Do you have to let the hides dry after fleshing before salting or start the salting process right away

No salt immediately after fleshing

how long do you leave the salt on the hide for?

24 hours then shake off the excess, and you can either get it in the pickle solution or allow it to dry stiff if you are sending off to be tanned
