Hi! What tipe of tool post did you have? Is a Multifix AA or a ASD? Thanks by!!

Multifix Aa. The turret is genuine, and one of the holders, but I have cheap Chinese holders to. A quick change toolpost does work with the topslide on, but 8mm tooling is probably maximum, not to be over centre height...

@@trashanken I milled down the top of the compound slide so that it is possible to hold 12 mm tool holders with Multifix Aa on the Emco Compact 8. In addition I made a solid tool post for the C8 which holds a Multifix A. (Yes, using two different Multifix sizes in parallel sounds strange, but I also have a bigger lathe with Multifix A.) The solit tool post makes a huge difference especially for parting off.

Yes, the compound slide is the weakest part of the machine concerning rigidity when turning anything harder than mild steel. I have to make a solid toolpost just like you.
