Well done! I got some slates several years ago to make some calls. Guess I need to find them and work out the procedure to turn them. Looks good. I assume they sound pretty good too.

Nice Turkey Call! I've turned quite a few of these my self. Wood segments look awesome. Keep an eye on your slate borders where you glued. I had issues using E600 where it bled through the borders. Had a fellow turner experience the same thing with the same product. I applied just like you did with a toothpick so I don't think I applied too much? I've gone to 2-part epoxy for mine now. Keep it up! Great job! Rick

Thank you so much for watching my video. All the tips you pass on, I'll be putting to use. I have 2 more layed out and ready to start drilling and turning. That will be the last of my slate and soundboard pieces. If all goes well, I'll be ordering more supplies after that. I can't wait to hear someone say they killed their bird using one of my calls. Like seeing a marlin, sailfish or dorado caught on one of my lures.

So pretty for laminated wood! Makes me want to get back into it. Do you have any issues with the E6000 leaking though the edge of the slate?

I haven't seen any problems with the E6000 yet. But this is the first time using it. Someone else mentioned that. I probably will use 5 min epoxy and the next one. I plan to make around 8 or 10 more for a craft show next month.
