Tuning points are basically key moments, very important things that drastically change the direction of the plot. A litteral turning point. Before turning point 1, there was a political plot with the Greyrat building up with Eris's family and Rudy was doing all of that to get him and Sylphy into the magic university. Then the turning point happened and the plot threw all that away and took a sharp 90 degree turn.

Yeah, if Rudeus didn't go to the begaritt continent to aid his father, then Roxy will die, if he does go (which he does) then Paul dies in place of Roxy. Oh, and if Rudeus never chose to go to the begaritt continent, Paul will still find a way to rescue Zenith but will take a couple years. Also, Roxy dies because Rudeus wasn't in the Continent yet, though he came and managed to call "God" there.

In the book not getting turned on was one indication that the pretty, buxom knight hugging him with all her might was family, when Dead End was getting a boat ride from Millis. Theresa (from the OVA) had run into the party and learned Rudeus was her nephew, so she wanted to form memories of him while he was still "at a cute age." Rudeus was simply confused why he wasn't getting excited from such close contact with a beautiful woman with a great rack.

it'll be at least a 2 year trip for Rudeus. But remember that everyone in that world knows how long it takes to travel. Rudeus' dad sent the letter requesting help, knowing that it would take a year for the letter to get there, then another year for Rudeus to get on-site. His dad prob wouldn't have sent the letter if he thought there was any decent chance the rescue would succeed in any less than 2 years.

Just comments from the novel you should know, when the man god tells rudy to sleep with the beast twins during mating season to 'become happier' its noted that im pretty sure in the novel at this point its been heavily hinted at that sylphy expects a second wife at some point because of who rudy is, how she isnt a follower of the monogomous religion like zenith, and also how she basically had paul, zenith, and liliana as second parents so shes already normalized to the idea of a polygamous multiple wife household SUPREME SPOILERS BELOW: at this point smart people should be getting at whats been going on with the man god. He knows rudy would be happier with 'another wife' but also remember eachtime the man god helped rudeus and think about how that directly impacted him and how he didnt end up meeting one certain person so far because of that specific advice. Rudeus cant meet someone anymore for the man god's plans to go through. Turning point 3 is a turning point because it finally sets up a scenario where Rudy doesnt listen to the man god and foils his predicitons. Try and recall who rudy loves most and who is rn looking for his mom? Rudy will regret it somewhat, going to save his mom will end in some major consequences so while i dont think the man god can lie, he can manipulate frfr, because at the same time it leads him to a much happier life.

The Real Turning point is 4 (yes 4) Turning point 3 is like a hard right in an intersection that makes you go "Damn that was a hard turn!" but TP 4 is like a 200 km/h left turn off a cliff into Tartarus. Prob gonna be next season though.

The weirdest thing with the whole episode is... I agree with the decision. Obviously shit happens, and WILL happen because this story hates things working out for Rudy too often, but when you think about it 1) he'd theoretically come back to a 2 year old, aka be there as soon as the kid starts to be old enough to remember, effectively never missing from the kid's POV 2) Slyphie has at least 2 years of guaranteed close emotional support via Ariel and Luke, direct support from Aisha, and even family if Elinelise stays (and she's financially secure) 3) Sylphie is directly giving him the go-ahead 4) Shizuka is actively working on and making progress with teleportation-adjacent tech so who knows at what point they could hypothetically develop some form of communication or recall 5) Zanoba presumably has some way to make his transit through Shirone (I assume he'd have to to get back to the Port city) even faster whether it be with some sort of royalty inspections pass or whatever so he shouldn't expect any hangups 6) he's an A-ranked adventurer and human so he'd probably make even better use of Aisha's "Ruijerd bodyguard for transit" strat 7) there could be some chance he'd get all or some of noted labyrinth exploring group Step Leader to come with (obv depends on their plans, but it's nice to think of) 8) the very first book he began studying when he got here is entirely about how this labyrinth (I assume it's this one) works 9) they've got hella connections at this point. chances are anywhere that they go there's a reasonable chance that they can connect with someone who knows Rudy by two stages to Kevin Bacon rules

We should also keep in mind that Geese knew the letter would take a whole year to get to Rudeus and he also knew Rudeus has his own life going on over there, but he still decided to send that (worryingly short) letter to Rudeus. So whatever is going on with the rescue must be so bad that Geese didn't see any other way out of it. Imagine though if Rudeus arrives after a whole year of travel and Geese just goes, "Oh yeah, we already took care of that, but thanks anyway."

i honestly have no clue whether or not rudy's decision was the right one, but i think the thing that truly makes this decision a turning point is less about his family and more about the fact hes actively going against the man gods advice, ever since he got reincarnated and met the man god rudy's basically done eveyrhing the man god tells him too, although sometimes begrudgingly, but this is the first time where he's intentionally disobeying the man god and making his decision for himself without the help of fate or divine intervention, and while i cant say whether going after his family was objcetively the correct or incorrect choice its definitely the one i personally agree with the most and consider to be the right one

Rudeus has grown too much not to decide to go. What I see as the actual Turning Point _event_ still hasn't arrived. The Turning Points are both events and periods of change. TP1: the event and period are the same: The Teleportation Incident. TP2: the period is the entire Orsted encounter, but the _event_ was Nanahoshi telling Orsted to heal Rudeus. The Turning Point periods follow causality with different people acting as their past experiences and personalities have set them to act. TP2 Rudeus felt compelled to speak with Orsted (as he didn't understand why his friends feared him and thought the situation was like with Ruijerd), and Orsted will slay any apostle of the Man-God without question or hesitation. TP3 Rudeus is presented with saving his parent or ignoring their plight (and getting it on with the beast-girls); he's grown far too much to ignore his parents again. So with Rudeus set to go on that years-long journey, what would be the _event_ of this Turning Point that comes out of nowhere?

12:20 actually the message was sent as express, so it took six months. Likely paid by the letter, which is why it was so terse. But if we look at the timeframe, when the letter was sent, Rudeus had just received Paul's letter, which itself had been on the road for about 10 months. So Paul had linked up with Geese in Rapan and they'd been at it for maybe six months before Geese sent the letter on his own or upon instructions. Since Paul didn't sign it, Geese likely went and did it on his own. In general timeframe, we're just shy of ten months from the start of the cour, so early-to-mid August K424, maybe. He'd turn 17 that year, with his birth date being late fall/early winter K407 (november 10 being the day he'd died in his previous life).

The baby will be like 2 ish or around that years old by the time he returns so it wouldn't be too late either but I get why he's taking time to decide. Plus think about why they asked him to help, because he's the toughest there is they know or at least know and willing to help so realistically if he wants his mom to live he has to go.

Man-God advocates for the hedonist and selfish option (much like his old life was). He'd have more women in his life and he'd enjoy family time with his children from the very start. Geese's call for help is the selfless and self-sacrificing option. He'd miss out on his child's early life, but he'd save his parents. However, the journey would take a year, and a lot can happen in that time. The letter'd been sent six months previously, so a lot can go wrong in the 18-24 months since their troubles got to the point of needing help. So I agree, the answer is a foregone conclusion. He's a different man than he was when he'd died.
