This is what I nearly died doing when I was on my lessons, never knew that cars could be coming into my line of driving when the light was green. I thought that green meant I could 100% go with no problems. My instructer had to brake hard and I was half a meter away from hitting the car.

Thanks sir. And if they want to go their right and my left then should I give them way ?
@JamesTravis2 жыл бұрын
If you are both wanting to turn right then you both come aside by side and give way to cars coming through, then you both proceed. If the oncoming car wants to turn right and you want to turn left, then you go first.

What to do if both cars want to turn right from both roads? Thanks
@JamesTravis2 жыл бұрын
You position yourself to turn right and the opposite car who wants to turn right positioned themselves next to you on your left, you both wait for the gaps to proceed

I find many people don't position themselves or stop appropriately at junctions, which leads to many drivers steering too wide an arc into the junction, often results in their vehicle cutting across the wrong side of the junction. Same again when pulling out of T junctions, this lazy and complacent method of steering when exiting junctions, leaves the rear end of your vehicle remaining longer across the centre line, potentially in the path of oncoming traffic. This is made so much more dangerous, when impatient drivers attempt the turn, while crossing and often halting the progress of oncoming traffic in the opposite lane. Sadly this all too often leads to severe side impacts at junctions. GO FIGURE! Your children are usually sat on the side nearest that fast approaching vehicle. Metal becomes very pliable at speed, we however are but soft and squishy inside that metal box. This is my opinion, I could be wrong, but then just ask any ambulance driver.
