Turning scrap wood and make a bowl with scars and granules on a Holzmann D460FXL wood lathe

Turning a wooden bowl is always a little adventure. This video is about turning a bowl in combination with some problem solving working with a workpiece with a lot of cracks and other imperfections. Unfortunately, defects in the wood often appear only during the turning with the result that the bowl becomes smaller and smaller. This time I went a different way. To get the desired shape of my bowl, I had to fill the gaps with inlace granules.

Excellent video. I have the same lathe and I love it. I find the lower speed setting is better for turning bowls.I think the faster speed settings are really for spindle turning. Thanks for sharing 👍
