Here in the U.K we don't have laws against fuelling our tractors up. Even if there was nobody would obey them, you could say it's a rule and a constant war between farmers here who can have the most horse power and who has the better tractor. I have a New Holland TS90 that we have fuelled out to 110hp on the shaft and about 120ish Hp on the engine. We didn't have the dealer fuel her up too far because we wanted to allow room for when the Engine is worn in thust giving her another couple horse power and only the last 2-3 years she smokes a little when she's starting up when she is running then she doesn't blow any smoke at all.
@bwillythekid82498 жыл бұрын
yes we do. if the ministry ever introduced a test your machine could fail. if you don't go too high you might be ok. iv worked for a CaseNewHolland dealer for over 15 years.

I'm getting to much pressure in the overfill line to the tank. What would cause the preasure in the tank? The fuel coming in is a lot of air bubbles in it and it sprays fuel out of the fuel cap. I've replaced 4 caps it's not the cap.

trying to find someone with a dyno for a tractor to make the mods seems to be the issue. I'd love to turn up my little l2800 just 2 hp would more likely help with using a tiller of 5 foot rather than a tiller of 4 ft which wont cover the tracks any thoughts? or am I thinking wrong?

Will this work on 2019 non turbo John Deere. My tractor is 25hp but drivetrain is identical to the 32hp version including compression ratio. I would like to take it up to the 32 if possible. I don’t want to go farther and hurt it though.
@brandonbradley25788 жыл бұрын
i wonder if this would help on my tl80 non turbo
@bwillythekid82498 жыл бұрын
yes it would. but if you turn it up too high you could damage the trans/pto clutch packs. because under heavy load the clutch could slip instead of dragging the engine down.

I see a lot of newer tractors using the same engine and turbo combo for multiple hp ratings for the same product line, but different hp models. They have all the fancy stuff for tier 4 compliance though, and I am curious how much is really different between all the motors in the same model line. Is it just the fuel pressure like in this video, or is it a programming change too? there seems to be a lot that is the same, yet a lot that MAY be different. In particular I am referencing LS tractors. There is a 4100 series, that has 40 - 55 hp models in 5 hp increments with the same turbo, and the same engine, on the same frame and transmission. What is the real difference for the thousands that you pay extra? I am all for a mom n pop making more for a better product, but if there is no difference except the turn of a screw, seems we, the consumers are being charged thousands more for 10 minutes of labor difference, IF this is the only real difference. Thanks, Brian

You are so right about the tractor companies using the same displacement motor for 5 - 10 and 15HP jump in three or four different model tractors. The tractors are all the same size and use all the same parts. The cost for the bigger HP motor is more than just a few thousand dollars. I heard it was done by electronic programming. It very well could be done this way that I just saw in this video. There are companies selling an adjustable programming chip switch for around $400.00 that can kick up the HP for certain model tractors by up to 25%.. What these guys just did here was to kick up the PTO HP from 70 to 107 HP. That is an incredible 50% boost in PTO HP.
@Tomsfoolery.7 жыл бұрын
I recently purchased an LS 4145. I paid an extra grand for the 45hp over the 40. Same engine, turbo, chassis etc! I inquired and my dealer told me that it's in the programming. But a dealer would say that so they would make the money!

more fuel has a cooling effect on the motor. and 2 the bigger motors have benefits that one don't have like torq retention it takes a lot more to slow 6 cylinders than 4. we run mainly 100+hp 6cyl motors and they do better on fuel as they don't have to work as hard to make hp. I say all this as I've been around machines all my life and witnessed it first hand. I've run deere 6420's up against 2950's and the 6cyl with fuel turned up does better at pulling and fuel economy.
@Diesel82908 жыл бұрын
scott offerle more fuel does not have a cooling effect on diesel. It raises exhaust gas temperatures which destroy an engine. To make efficient power you raise the boost and fuel to suit.
@2950johndeere8 жыл бұрын
Only on a turbo engine will it raise egts and yes it has a cooling effect
@Diesel82908 жыл бұрын
scott offerle I think your confused with a petrol engine. As more petrol injected provides a cooler burn. And also how would the turbo charging of a diesel engine raise egt since boost provides the cooling effect opposed to a petrol engine, more boost equals more heat. More diesel will provide a cooling effect at extremes such as pulling tractors where an extreme amount of diesel is injected into the cylinder .

I want to reduce the horsepower of my tractor to save on fuel costs. Any Ideas?
@gregshearer4237 жыл бұрын
Pat Flynn buy a new tractor that's smaller
@HeritageExplorer7 жыл бұрын
That would seem logical but not as simple as that as I spent a considerable sum converting the tractor to make it look like a steam engine. I was thinking that tractors in the say 80, 90 and 100hp ranges were working off similar diesel pump installations. The only difference being the settings in the pump to achieve the different horsepower outputs. Is it possible thus to have the pump adjusted to lower the HP and thus save on fuel?
@OMRS17 жыл бұрын
Pat Flynn just take out ur engine sell it to buy a horse and tie the horse to the front of the tractor problem solved
