Great review of one of the greatest albums of all time. I went to see Radiohead on their OK Computer tour in 1997 and they were amazing. Truly mesmerising. My favourite Radiohead album though is their 1995 album The Bends. To me that album is perfection! One of the rare times where I love every single track on an album. There's no filler. It's a masterpiece from beginning to end. The first time I ever saw Radiohead was when they were promoting The Bends in 1995. I saw them in a small venue in Northampton, England and I wasn't sure what to expect as I didn't have the album yet (it had just come out a week or so beforehand) and was going mainly by the first single they'd released from it, High And Dry. Before then I knew their song Creep and a couple of other tracks but that's all. I'd never bought their first album at that point. On the strength of High And Dry I bought a ticket to see them at the Roadmender Club and was in awe from beginning to end. They totally captivated the audience throughout. The song that really stood out for me at that concert was Street Spirit. Spellbinding, ethereal, hypnotic, I completely fell in love with the band during that gig. I've been to many brilliant concerts by many great artists during my life and I can safely say that Radiohead at the Roadmender in Northampton in March 1995 is my all-time favourite! I remember still being in a daze at work the next day. I found it hard to concentrate on anything, that's the effect Radiohead had on me, haha! I would so love you to react to The Bends, if you're able to. I guarantee you will love it as much, if not more than OK Computer! :)

Do the rest of the albums in order of release so he can see the transitions and progression that culminates at moon shaped pool again :) I agree with your dad- I’m so disappointed in myself for not listening to them back then. But I am glad I’m finally on the bus!

This is gold. Subbed. More Radiohead reactions!

Man this is gonna be additive. I usually don't watch reaction videos but this idea of a guy showing cool stuff to his dad is very satisfying to watch for some reason. Probably because my dad wants nothing to do with music and I love music and also write songs as well. You two have very nice vibe btw.

Guys, thanks you, great reaction! Exit Music is written for Romeo + Julliet movie, that's why the lyrics are dark
@omphalos853 жыл бұрын
This. Radiohead were commissioned a song for the Romeo + Juliet OST, they gave Talk Show Host instead since they thought Exit Music fitted better with what they were doing for OKC but the lyrics make much more sense in that context.

Talking about "missing things", as dad says. I love that there is music out there waiting to be discovered. I've listened to Radiohead since '97. On the other hand, I started listening to Slipknot last year, 20 years after they got popular, and I love them. (I'm 48, btw). Great series, this.

Radioheads" music and songs are just simply timeless. 20 years later their songs are still just as fresh & relevant as when I heard them in the beginning. They are truly one of those bands that their songs and music grow on you the more you listen to them. I'm hoping they come back and release 2 or 3 albulms would be even better. Thoms melodies and Jonnys guitar as well as the rest of the band was & is truly genius. One of those bands that will remain timeless to those who give them a chance. The good thing about having not heard their songs back then is the fact that you now have very interesting music to listen to during this current stagnant time where there's very few artist now that in my opinion, people will still be listening to 20 to 50 years in the future the way they still listen to the Beatles and Zeppelin. Sadly there's alot of young people today that when asked, don't even know who they were.

Based on the ones he picked out as loving off the album, I think he would definitely love In Rainbows and maybe not be as hot on Kid A.

Listening to the albums will change him. If he'd listened to Kid A first he probably wouldn't appreciate it like he would after hearing OK Computer.

Loved this, I could watch Radiohead reaction videos all day and you guys do it better than most, can’t believe it’s one of your first videos! Suggestions for future albums: Mezzanine (Massive Attack), Dummy (Portishead) and the first couple Muse albums!

I really enjoyed watching a Father-Son fellow music lover reaction. I have been a Radiohead fan since The Bends, so my daughter grew up listening to it, and I have passed the torch. [Her podcast is called Like Spinning Plates]. Dad, better late than never. OK Computer is pure brilliance.

Totally a grower! It's actually become one of my Dad's favorites off the album now just after a week of listening. He talks about it briefly in the next video that we'll have uploaded this week.

In case you never heard or were answered re: Exit Music: The band was approached to compose a track for the closing credits of the DiCaprio remake of Romeo + Juliet, and that was what they came up with. I think it played in theaters but is only on this album, not the film soundtrack (WHICH I HIGHLY RECOMMEND). So, to answer your question, yes, they both died.
