I love this build. I put a Oldsmobile rocket 350 out of a 1978 Oldsmobile 98 into a 1982 Cadillac 54" stretched limo. It went really well except I had to weld the 98' engine mounts to the frame of the limo. The 350 bolted right up to the limo transmission & the wiring was fairly straight forward. The 350 - Quadrajet was more than enough power for the limo, in fact it smoked the tires.

@Paranormal Discovery Exactly, I brought back many old parts with surface rust with a wire wheel and some coats of primer and paint. My first project was my 1100 V-Star that I turned into a bobber. sold ALL the OEM parts I had to take off within 6 months. Nothing got trashed, but got 5 people happy that they were able to fix their bikes and I got some money in return.

Hay boys that Cad had a v-8. Same engine from 1949, until the engine was replaced a more modern version (later engine was 470 CI or there about) By the way the original engine was a 390, up from 331 inch in '49) Don't let the 3 exhaust ports fool you. the center 2 cylinders shared the common port. Many engines at the time did the same.

@tomkurtzhals73695 жыл бұрын
Early caddy motors was a 331, then a 365 up till 58. 59-63 was the 390. in 64 it was punched and stretched to 429 through 67. My 64 combo has the 429 and since its a combo(ambulance/hearse) it has a hotter than norm cam and bigger carb. And it will get with it in a flick of the pedal. Its actually kinda scary how much grunt it has considering the size and weight of this old whale. And they are all great engines, just don't have the mainstream support as the others brands. There is a guy who is running the 390-429 engines in speed boats and is developing speed parts for them. He has heads, intakes and cams in the works.
@jean-charlesweyland1295 жыл бұрын
@@tomkurtzhals7369 I've got a 65 Caddy and I'm dying to know: where did you get those cams for a 429 ?
@tomkurtzhals73695 жыл бұрын
@@jean-charlesweyland129 the ambulances had a hotter cam installed due to the urgent circumstances of ambulance duty. Some of the info I have states above stock specs, no specific manufacturer listed unfortunately. mine is as built, no modifications of any kind besides a radio and yrs ago at a meet I lined up with a 65 coupe and just walked away from him like he was standing still. there are guys out there prototyping heads, intakes and cams. don't have the info in front of me. its for the 390/429 engines. Brothers ... The show is GREAT! .... Filming and editing is top notch. The music is ok - if you lower the volume to that of the speaking audio and or even below it. My hand is on the volume control on my remote all the time - like ... it's worse than watching commercial tv when the commercial comes on.. if you catch my drift?.. Music is way to distracting esspecially when there are words in the music. Intstrumental music would be much better ... AND .. you can't miss with the blues .. it is a CROSS platform music to all generations i believe (of course i don't know anyone who likes Rap - so i don't know about them). KEEP ON TRUCKIN' BROS ..You are doing exactly what you should be doing !.
