First went there in 1980 when it was The Treasury. I was 21 years old and just moved to Vegas with my girlfriend who is now my wife of 43 years. Being young and broke we ate their buffet every day for probably a month. 99 cent breakfast, $1.99 lunch, $2.99 dinner. Times have sure changed

I stayed here in July 2023, peak season, and was 1/4 the price of anywhere else on the strip and would stay here again. Can’t deny the value, room was fine, and it’s a 2 minute walk across the road to the MGM Valet entrance & the first stop on the Monorail connecting you to the entire strip. Cheap tables to get your day started with a couple of table drinks, and great food at Hooters. If you want a cheap as chips option to spend your money on other Vegas experiences / gambling and just need a bed to crash this is the place to go.

I always go to the OYO Hotel, they always treated me like a prince (I'm 61 years old) and although it's not the most luxurious hotel... I'm at a great pace!! It has 2 nice pools, some places to eat and drink, a stage for live shows, a nice casino (it was always the place where I have won the most) and above all things...THE STAFF...always well prepared, attentive and friendly. Near the strip, you can go on the sidewalk or you can cross Tropicana at the traffic light and enter the strip from the MGM lobby (more fun option) OYO Hotel, it will not be the prettiest hotel, but it is where I had the best time, Thanks for reading this message and I send you a big hug from Argentina.

Make sure you get a real black light and not just a cover over your flash light. I have concerns that they didn't get scammed. Hotels are aware that people are starting to do this. With little research you find that the same owners, own everything.

To be honest, we need to be glad that these dirty awful hotels exist. They serve a market of people who cannot afford to stay at nicer places. If OYO or any other cheap brand hotel began having better rooms, you can for sure expect them to price themselves competitive to the market, which would price out the lower income demographic from even having a place to stay.

I managed a small motel in the 1980's. I will not stay in one unless it's a necessity. I would rather sleep in my car, its cleaner. What some people can do to a room in 15 minutes is amazing but mostly disgusting.

It reminds me of the cheap rooms that they have in Atlantic City where if its the only room available and your too tired/hung over to drive home- you take it and sleep with most of your clothes on.

Yes, I would have liked for them to take pillow cases off and scan the pillows and also pull back the sheets to test the sheets and mattress. I also have concerns if that was a "true" black light or just a filter that gives off the appearance of a black light?? Hotel owners are aware that people are getting wiser. The 1 %ers own everything. EVERYTHING. Even black light knock off's I would imagine.

Wow that tub and sink was a no for me at first I thought you was going to say Arizona Charles and we stay there when we move to Vegas i didn't even need a black light there was drops of sex drops on the box frame of bed foumd hair in the bed hair in the sink and in bath tub and up under sink where the trash be it look like someone smedded blood on the wood of the sink under on the wall and the bathroom door was chipped and as you come in there was a long mirror it fell an put a little hole in the wall then as you come where the bed there was two pictures hanging over each bed but the picture close to the window there was something on the picture a noticeable spot on the top corner of the picture put little blood with cold on it so we callt the manger she came up and look at everything ask did we want to move but she wouldn't have a ready a little later that night we was very tired after that long drive from Kansas City Kansas we had already paid to dtay there stay for about a week sorry I was long

I’m gonna defend this place Ive stayed here 3 times I normally stay in their suite but I’ve been in a basic room and whilst it wasn’t the cleanest a call to reception quickly sorted that out.. the casino is small and hooters is well hooters decent food and a decent place to drink the casino is good to go to if you’re looking to gamble somewhere cheap! 1 dollar blackjack is good and 2 dollar beer it’s definitely worth a visit for a few hours at least

You are both so brave for staying here! We've stayed at so many Vegas hotels but Oyo has never been on our list and probably won't be. This reminds us of the old Imperial Palace. When Chris and I stayed there in the past we walked right out of the room and went to Aria. We couldn't handle it. lol

You sooooooo should look at the mattress CLOSELY, under the mattress, headboard, ETC, ETC, for any trace of bedbugs BEFORE you lay on the bed. I know people who have spent THOUSANDS of dollars on exterminators, discarding belongings and guess what? They still had to move and leave behind all their belongings as it's almost impossible to get rid of an infestation. When it was first rebranded as Hooters that place wasn't terrible but it went downhill fast. The final years of Hooters and that place was full of and I mean really full of Hookers. Oyo has not done a thing to improve that place at all. I still think as bad as that place is the Strat is even worse.

Cool review. Stayed there a few times. Almost booked there in a couple of weeks. But found a surprising sale at Horseshoe. I find it livable. Not great but for the price when you end up in Vegas and there is a convention on, the price stays relatively cheap even when similar places like Excalibur go up to $200-300 a night. Yep didn't realize but CES going on when we are there next. Always somehow manage to book when a 100,000+ convention going on lol.

Sorry, but I don't agree with the idea of walking from the Oyo to the Strip. It may not be that far but that street is always deserted. I've driven down that street many times at night and during the day and rarely see anyone walking. It's a great place to get mugged.

I stayed in a Holiday Inn Express years ago. It was the Honeymoon Suite. I was there by myself. Wokeup the next morning. Rolled over and felt something scratchy. IT WAS A USED COMDOM PACKAGE. Spoke to the manager. He up grade my membership status. I should have sued. THEY DIDN'T CLEAN THE SHEETS. 🤬😡

3 years ago I stayed at OYO. 1st room sink was clogged and there was a bad smell. 2nd room was ok. carpets in hallway had stains and was torn in several places. My friend staying with me needed a refrigerator for her medicine. OYO provided an RV refrigerator. Hooters Restaurante and Casinos were nice. Stake and Shake was closed. I had to explain to waitress the name of the Tree Mile Island sauce. I grew up about 30 minutes from Three Mile Island Nuclear Power Plant.

My wife and I stayed at the Oyo when it was the Hooters hotel. We had a reservation at another hotel, but wound up changing location and hotel. It's like staying at a Days Inn of casinos. That was pre Covid and we had no issues with the bed bugs. In that case, you got what you paid for or in our case, what was free.

I’m pretty sure oyo hotels are only meant for those 1 or two hour stays if you know what I mean. At least here in Texas that is the type of establishment around the oyo hotels

AWESOME test. Now I have a challenge for you. To check to see if your black light really is the true deal or you just fell for a knock off that just gives off a blue light hue....have sex at home and check your own sheets after. If it shows up...ya know ya didn't get scammed. I'm only skeptical because it looks like you have a regular flashlight with a "blue light" filter??? But I am SO GLAD you did this test. I forget where I heard that OYO stands for "On Your Own," and it was intended to cater to women travelers. When it was new, it looked nice for a few minutes, then reality seeped in. 'Just not a great location? Or financial backing collapsed? I always stay on Fremont, but even Ellis Island would be better.
