OP was a smart man to tell Addie right away to explain the situation and take on this situation together. Plus letting your parents know early on to back you guys up was a nice touch. I would’ve posted her status to you (being an ex and quick rundown of history) to the family group chat/s after talking to Addie to take the her leverage away to save on the stress. Your choice was fine too and made sure the whole family (both sides and especially FIL) was on your guys side and the witch was permanently gone from your lives.
