The kings has the chance to win the next games. They should be able to beat the Jazz, Pelicans, lakers who are struggling, and maybe the nuggets who are not as powerful as before. They should start getting hungry and play good defense and hopefully will go back to the playoff rankings. Get hungry kings.

So 3 games with Monk as a starter and the Kings have won 2 out of 3 and played well in all 3. So the rotations look better and I liked seeing Brown go deeper into the bench the second night of a back to back. If the Kings can maybe win 4 out of their next 5 I think they could really get rolling.

Some observations: Chris Paul is in control of the Spurs when he is on the court as evidenced by the +/-. The beautiful passes, 13, and bonus 8 rebounds, 3 on the offensive are very good. Unfortunately, the dude is turning 40 so keeping him healthy is priority #1 for a couple of reasons - for a possible postseason run and trade bait. For the first time, I watched Sacramento play a full half, the 2nd half in particular. When they say Sacramento is a "bad team", my observation is not exactly. Offensively, it's more like there is no flow to their offense. The ball movement is gone, cutting to the basket is gone. Harrison Barnes, even when he is not scoring, he knows how to set screens to get that type of offense going. Type of players like Huerter and Murray thrives off that because they are in rhythm shooting the basketball. Standing still shooting is not easy. Why do you think free throw shooters dribble the ball, rotate the ball before shooting? The "turn the f^&^king jets on is gone". A lot of walk it up, isolation basketball now like other teams, so boring to watch. Sometimes it takes them so long to set up their half court offense that they end up with hurried shots. At least, the pick and roll with Sabonis is still there. And, last night the 3s good. Same question still, which K will show up next? Defensively, giving up 113 points to a San Antonio team missing 3 key pieces especially minus its best player is a lot of points.
@matthewyip869512 күн бұрын
Agreed on most of it. Still think fox for markenen was a mirage. I know ainge well from his history He was asking for draft capital and Fox most likely. But markenen is not worth that. That trade still would have left a hole at PG and the Kings had no real idea who'd had run the point anyways. At least this year.
@1takefades12 күн бұрын
Matt stop acting like you know which coach or GM wanted xyz player. U talked in circles with this one. Monte literally put together a team that had the best offensive rating in nba history. While our defense got better last year u were on the podcast yelling we need another player that can create offense other than fox! Fox needs help offensively, we can’t be a middle of the pack defense and offense ! Focus on the offsense! Thr season was coming close, we got demar . You yourself even said this is gonna be an unstoppable offense. Now ur playing the blame game because it didn’t turn out, but Monte fixed the problem u and all the fans were yelling that we needed another shot creator. Shit got one of the best shot creators in the game and was able to pull it off by just trade who everyone wanted off this team HB. One of the first things u say in this video is this team is unstoppable when they are hitting their shots , u mean the thing the Kings are most successful at and has shown to win games from it? Then by the end of the video ur blaming Monte about defense. And even blamed him for drafting DC .. LITERALLY THE BEST THREE PT PERIMETER DEFENDER IN THE DRAFT. Sounds like you want a perfect team. Well u have to get a 1-5 draft pick and go from there. Hmmm Carter was projected to go top 5. Imagine passing up on a top 5 pick at 13.. and he becomes a derrick white type of player that fits perfectly in a championship team. Because how dare we draft an injured top 5 player at 13 in a “weak draft” that fits our timeline , and make judgement on the players ability that hasn’t even been able to show it.. but that’s the thing with Kings fans, they are all in at first but then when something isn’t going there way they play the should’ve could’ve would’ve game like the organization should tell the future spot on and that it’s the GMs fault for the players not producing . Even tho they were projected to. After the shitty run of GMS , Matt and many other fans defiantly forgot where this team came from

Did the Kings need shooting at the time of the draft? Did they need more offensive specialists? If a player is compared to Jrue Holliday or Derrick White in terms of 2 way potential, then shouldn’t you do BPA? Knecht would have been nice for NOW but would he have been the best choice 5-7 years from now? I believe Carter will prove he was the correct choice.

You are 100% right, Monte must cook up a deal this year to balance the roster. At least one of these bench guards has to be traded as sad as it will be to see them go. I think it's becoming more and more clear that if Kev can't get his value up by playing better consistently, Keon is the one that is going to be traded because they have Devin Carter "Waiting in the wings". In theory Devin could come in and fill that role that Keon plays, but that's a big if on top of how much he'll even be able to play this year. Monte 100% took a guard in Devin because of what happened at the end of last year with Monk going down. If he doesn't go down we likely stay in the top 6 race and that spooked Monte so he wanted even more depth
@1takefades12 күн бұрын
Ur DEFINTELY .. wrong. Monte picked best player available. And we needed perimeter defense at the three , athleticism and an older prospect. And DC is exactly all of that and can hit a three. Literally the only rookies that has turned out so far are GUARDS! And if DC was projected to go top 5, and Kings not needed a developing player and in win now mode. DC made the most sense even if we had 5 guards. How many times have we switched our SG this year? We gotta stop acting like we have a FORSURE starting SG
@Scottadamsfan348112 күн бұрын
The reason they made shots was because spurs didn’t have wemby and they got confident

Disconnect, yes, but not a total one. Yes, too many guards…but drafting best available Devin Carter was a no-brainer - a more gifted GPIII archetype 3&D guard and eventual Davion replacement. Monte’s plan just fell thru the cracks. The vision obviously was to fill the wing need with a savvy vet in DeMar & to replace Davion for the potential of a young, long 3&D backup in 6’9” Jalen McDaniels, then adding another wing of either Jae Crowder, TJ Warren, or Dyson Daniels. If anything, the Jordan McLaughlin signing is the head-scratcher and so is the up-and-down play of Kevin Huerter.

Didn't most of us fans want this?? Monk should have been in the starting SG last season. Fox is adaptive and although the jury is watching the evidence it will be close for him getting to that super max level. Right now he's close but nobody knows if he'll really be that player. I'll give him credit...he isn't DeMarcus Cousins or hield crying for the $$$ ahead of time from the shadows. But he is at least doing what coach Brown is wanting him to do. Run and lead the team as his own alongside sabonis for the most part Although sometimes its a fox and Monk show. Keegan may be at his ceiling of 12 ppg and 6-7 rebounds and a good defender. So he another HB with higher defensive potential but little less IQ offensively than HB...so a good starter but not an all star. At best he's Kmart on offense and maybe close to Ron artest on defense on his best nights. The problem is...no bench beyond huerter and Ellis. They need to really fill out the bench or this season is just going to be 50/50 , up and down like it has been no matter what else happens from the 3 point line etc.
