Random fact: Bonham was inspired by jazz drummers with plenty of tom action in their performance (like the fills by Art Blakey or Papa Jo Jones), but he as a rock drummer played it louder and faster, which created those Bonham style solos we know today

Is it weird as a drummer I have a hard time enjoying solos? Most of them are very similar and go on way too long. I do enjoy it when it feels more structured and has a point like what Neil Peart did. Love Daniel’s work in the songs though, has some really tasty fills.
