Don’t think turnstile would be as good as they are without this man behind the kit, Fang’s an absolute beast.

Sometimes videos like this make me realize drummers, particularly ones playing music like Turnstile's need to be in really good shape to handle the physical and cardio endurance of these sets. I saw Turnstile in October and Daniel's drum solo was fuckin incredible. Dude is really solid overall considering hardcore isn't the most technically demanding stuff to drum

@KingBlonde2 жыл бұрын
@@gabejbn half the dudes that play djenty wank core can't jam for shit and sound terrible without samples, and the jazz dudes are on another level. for a rock/ punk drummer, this guy kills exceptionally.
@KingBlonde2 жыл бұрын
@@gabejbn AND like, have you listened to the album? I don't think the guy hit a generic modern metal influenced fill the entire thing, not to mention tastefully pushing the vibe of the songs forward. I guess it just depends how you define "best", is it speed, is it how much polyrhythmic metric modulation you can do? does it even matter?! All I know is the shit made me groove, and I'm happy. and yea really, what GRAVE said. "objectivity" in most cases is still hinged on our own perceptions anyway.

correct^ they're not using metronomes and programmed samples, they're still jamming/ feeling the songs out with each performance. when you've had a band that's played together for so long, you can be somewhat jammy and still be tight as hell, it's waaayyy funner that way too. being in a good band is great.

their own samples ripped from the album. think 808s and 80s/ 90s FM synths. you could approximate that sound with some study for sure! hope this helps.
