It actually isn't all that difficult if you treat it more like an action "puzzle" game, similar to Ghosts'n'Goblins. Each level is very short, the longest ones take only a few minutes, and you get unlimited continues. With how fast some enemies attack and respawn it can be impossible to make the right call immediately, but once you know which weapon to use on which enemy, where to run through and where to shoot a few waves of enemies before commencing, it can be a breeze to finish the levels. Also, not all enemies respawn and those that do usually only respawn two or three times. After that the area will be clear for a while before they reappear, so you can even take it slow at times and methodically "conquer" the levels. Lots of secrets and several hidden levels, too :) PS: Good job showing footage of lots of different levels, goes to show that you wanted to do the game justice!

Yeah I didn't find the game to be that hard to beat exactly for the reasons you stated above. I like the comparison to Ghouls N Ghosts also. Just keep hacking away at the game with unlimited continues and it doesn't take long before you find yourself breezing through familiar territory. I think this game is awesome and definitely a hidden gem.

This game was the shit back in the day, but I could never get passed level 2, and only ONE person I knew beat it, cause he was a hardcore gamer. Maybe if it came with checkpoints and a difficulty adjuster, it wouldn't be so forgotten today

Another game that sucks on the consoles but is awesome on GBA is the movie titled game TMNT, its just like the classic SNES/Genesis/Arcade style beat-em up. Pick one of the 4 Turtles and goto town.

Most Turok console games got a GBA game of the same name, but completely different. I grew up on Turok Shadow of Oblivion and it was a pretty good time. Although it took me for ever to beat the first level because you have to find a switch to open a door to get to the boss, and it was the same color as the wall in the game which made it impossible to see on a GBC screen

There's an emulator called vba link that allows you to emulate the gba in link cable mode for multiplayer. I've tried it a while back but, to be honest, it didn't work very well for me. Perhaps the dev of said emulator has updated it since then? Not sure, but maybe you could give it a try for a future video? Just a thought...

Ironically the GBA game fares off better than the home console ports in terms of gameplay. turok games have had difficulty spikes from time to time

I have to say I have not played any Turok games since the original (?) on the N64. I remember fog, and lots of cool dinosaurs and weapons. I know nothing of the sequels, prequels, etc. Any worth playing? This one looks cool, but I have no GBA at the moment. I remember enjoying the original quite a bit, but I get the feeling it wouldn't hold up today.
