Chris is a legend. Fortunately he came back with an amazing soundtrack in the new game Tiny Thor which is in Turrican-style.

Still listen to Turrican soundtracks, still love them, like I'm still 15. IMMORTAL music. Like lots of other Amigans I recorded the tracks onto cassette tape (remember those?). I'm probably in the minority here. Overall I like Turrican I the most.
@RetroGamingMusicCom Жыл бұрын
You're not a minority here, I did those tapes too!! And the others did too!! Come and join us on the Live show on Friday kzbin.infoLSJ4diZhjwc?feature=share

@@RetroGamingMusicCom I meant "minority here" in the sense that I prefer (considering the whole game) Turrican I soundtracks to those of Turrican II and III.
@RetroGamingMusicCom Жыл бұрын
@@TomaszWinnicki Hahaha, you might be on to something. Before I did the Turrican 2 track, Turrican 2 was the gold standard. But now that have made both I think Turrican I theme has more soul, like that fat chords and electric guitars and more!!!

Interesting to get to know that the seven voices of TFMX were created by using only one hardware channel for four software channels. For decades I thought it would be the other way round, just like Oktalyzer and OctaMed, only with one hardware channel left unmixed for maybe reasons of limited CPU performance.

Yes! I was amazed to hear this too!!!And that it came from Jochen Hippel!!

The friend he's talking about who made the 4-channel TFMX emulation on Atari ST is Jochen Hippel. Hippel also made the ST conversion of all Hueslbeck music in Turrican 1/2 for ST. He was indeed a heck of a programmer (I think he also created a floppy disk format that could be booted either from the Amiga and Atari ST, used in at least one game). As I usually say the best always came out from working on multiple platforms back then.

I was listening to a lot of computermusic too when i was young, and of course Jean-Michel Jarre and Vangelis. I didn't really care what others were doing or thinking about it. I didn't get much hate though.
