Turtle beach told me everything I needed to know about these. I gave honest criticism of their last dozen years, which is about the time frame they started releasing nothing but utter crap. Always bragging about 50mm drivers, which are literally almost no difference to 40mm, especially if they're as poorly tuned as turtle beach typically are, which is to say, most headsets, out of the box have better sound quality than turtle beach do eqed. To the fanboys, I was there at one time.... they do not sound great.... try a different brand and compare. I can name multiple headset brands that have better sound quality, and super human hearing is nothing more than a bass cut, so bass isn't drowning out other sounds. They come in at 330.... almost guaranteed to have worse audio quality than nova pros and the recently released maxwell, and comparable to the 100 dollar Microsoft headset. No better spatial than other top brands, though tb was always solid there. Tb has always done pretty well when anc was a feature so expect that to be good. Big question.... what's with the exceptionally low capacity batteries? Who the hell wants to swap batteries constantly. It's supposed to be a handy feature, not an annoyance. And I didn't see any transparency, so correct me if I'm wrong. I've seen enough though, to know, these should be priced to compete with a30s not nova pros and maxwell..... that's not even going into all the durability and critical firmware issues tb has continued to consistently have. I have no confidence tb did anything to fix any issues, considering their response on me bringing this up on their pages, is to remove my posts, and block me from leaving a reaction....I sure as shit can share though. I would hope a progressing company would've had some constructive feedback on improvement they made and tried to change my opinion..... I've given both positive and negative thoughts to numerous companies, and I can tell you, I've never had company respond like that.....I did, however, get into a huge conversation with an audeze maxwell dev about disappointment they removed some key features on the maxwell, and he educated me on their reasoning very well. Yeah.... anybody who pays 330 on these is a fool.

I just got this headset coming from a stealth 700 gen 2 max and wow. I thought those were loud and had a lot of bass. These things get crazy loud. I went to Best Buy purchased the steel series pro. The Arctic nova 7x and the arctic 9x. Also wanted to try the the Xbox brand wireless which was really decent for the price. Anyhow the turtle beach was a way better experience. From how fluid the app is as well.

Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2: around 20 hr battery Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max: around 40 hr battery Turtle Beach Stealth Pro: 2 batteries, each one lasts 12 hours and you have to remove your mic every time you need to change it. That's a step back.

They're trying to compete with nova pros, which is pretty foolish, especially considering the maxwell also just had a huge launch, in the same price range. Per turtle beach usual, they cut a ton of corners, which leads me to believe they aren't going to make improvements anywhere else, and let's be honest, from audio, build quality, and firmware, they've been awful for a dozen or so years straight. Also, real world use, considering they do everything to maximize battery life in test, the battery life is going to be half of that. I don't get their price, which should be about 100 less, and competing in price ranges with companies they haven't even been able to be comparable with in terms of audio quality. Personally I hope these fail hard and they learn a valuable lesson. The kid in me wants to love turtle beach again, but the adult logic and knowledge I gained after moving away from them won't let me go near them.

Is it really a step back? Bigger battery means longer charge times which means you'd be spending more time with a wire than if you took the 10 seconds to swapthe battery. With the swappable battery, you have virtually no down time over all and if the battery degrades over time, you can just get a new one. This was a big feature on the the Steelseries Nova Pros and this feels like a direct response to that.

@@williamkramer9731 If the ANC is good and the mic is as good as the Stealth 700s, I could see it actually competing withthe nova pros.

@John Hurley I've used turtle beach enough..... the mics aren't bad as long they don't bug out, issues always arise between connection and a few other things.... it's not been corrected in years so I hold little hope now. They're audio tuning is typically in line with what you'd expect with a hundred dollar headset. There's a couple less features, cut rate batteries, and I really hope that's not a wireless charger to just lay a battery on, because that's a terrible idea, geared for hopes for people to bump and in their case, I'm sure they're hoping to cause some lost batteries. They're obviously gearing these for kids that know no better, and serious fanboys of the brand, because most on the side by side they get burnt with. Also, those detachable mics are nice, but unless it's a company not known for big quality issues, it's a terrible idea.... they wear out. Even my ls50x, which blew away the stealth 700 it upgraded, due to that being awful, had the mic wear out, leaving me using the internal.
@williamkramer9731

@John Hurley also.... the size of the battery has little correlation in how long the charge takes.... the charging setup has alot more to do with that.... hence why I can pretty much either take all day charging my phone, or have it charged within an hour. In fact, the nova pro, with almost double the capacity is estimated to charge within 3 hours, while these are at 3-4, with a much less secure charging setup and far more swaps. Looking down the line, I'd maybe pay 230-250 for the tb. They're pretty much inferior everywhere, and having owned them in the past, I'd place bets you'll never use them for travel either, because tb sound terrible for music, even after eqing. Not to be rude, but for someone who sells electronics, just by the battery comment, you know very little about them. That seems to be a going problem with places you get electronics.... go into too many places where I fail to get actual facts and answered questions because of knowing more myself lol

I'd run from it..... they're trying to compete by knocking off a better setup and pricing the same. Side by side, they look like they should be about a hundred less than nova pros. Far weaker batteries, no transparency mode, the dac on steelseries is just as easy as using an app, and turtle beach has always had some wireless connection issues. Also, as a previous higher end tb user, they live to push 50mm drivers, which pose little to no difference from 40, especially when the 50mm audio tuning is poor. My last 4 headsets, I've had in alot closer succession than I would've liked. Stealth 700, which died way too quick. Even though, I thought it was great, because I had little experience on higher end headsets, even eqed, it was crap. Pretty good spatial though. Arctis 5. Definite improvement over stealth audio, despite being cheaper. Too light on the bass though. Ls50x. Blew this two away. Pretty good till it wore out and power a flushed the company down the toilet. Real good audio quality, could've been better in the spatial though not bad. Nova pro wireless. Very balanced audio. Some like more bass, but eqed, more than enough on my end. Great connection, great features, good battery.

Is it just me, or does Turtle Beach keep making their headsets bigger and bulkier each year? While this new model is impressive, especially with its switchable batteries that ensure you never run out of power, it’s not ideal for traveling. I do a lot of traveling, and I find this headset uncomfortable to wear in public. For gaming, it performs exceptionally well, but it can feel a bit heavy on your head. On the other hand, I purchased the Logitech Astro A30 for gaming and travel, and it’s a game-changer with over 27 hours of battery life. It’s significantly smaller, offers great bass, and looks much more presentable for public wear. As much as I appreciate Turtle Beach, I have to hand this one to Logitech for its comfort and easily removable ear pads.

Advertised as multi-platform but only one input for a singular device. Why not make it like the arctis nova pro wireless and have two inputs. And let me switch between…
@williamkramer9731
@williamkramer9731 Жыл бұрын
Because, it's not the nova pro. It's turtle beach doing turtle beach things, in hopes fanboys who know no better carry them. Their audio tuning has always been inferior, often to even 100 dollar headsets, forget the nova pro, which none of their headsets have been even close to in audio tuning, even when fully eqed vs ss straight out of box. They cut corners on the batteries. They cut corners in inputs. No transparency. The only thing I suspect will be better, may be the anc, which tb has always been decent with. As a previous disappointed stealth 700 owner, as well as nova pro and other ss headsets, they're trying to cash in on people loving the nova pros with a cheap knock off that they jacked the price up on. I'd place my yearly income on the fact that they're going to be trash cans in comparison, unless you listen to sponsored review sites, who are handed the product just to say nice things, which is most big reviewers. You gotta dig for the little guys reviews.

@Unadulterated Mischief absolutely, they're excellent, and best in their price range..... best out there, I'd be hard pressed to say. First, if you're blatantly competitive, both epos and sennheiser have better options, but you're going to pay more. For fps spatial, judging by a hunt for unbiased reviews, the nova pro does a little better, mostly due to being a little less bassy, but obviously not a better overall audio performance. The mic is great. Problem is, and the reason I have the nova pro, is that new fancy Bluetooth cut simultaneous, which taking alot of calls and running fps I need. Also, due to working on the road, and using a tmobile Hotspot setup, I get pretty good speeds, but there's an issue with their network which causes upnp issues, so can't connect to party chats without a ton of issues, discord is buggy, and connection to any chat eventually bugs out the whole network, causing lags and crashes. No issues using discord mobile, and it saves me 30 a month from the next cheapest worthwhile option. So, for a first pick, and it's not saying it's better in general, the nova pros perform excellent, and are a better choice for some. Personally, I wouldn't mind adding a maxwell for when I have my off time, to really make rpgs and other single player campaigns pop, though I also wish it had transparency because of having kids. Great setup, and obviously the price lies in the audio, but due to lack of features it's far from the only great option, pending what someone needs..... what's a given is that the turtle beach pales next to anything in the price range.
