Hey turtle did you notice that Overhaul's matter manipulation quirk makes geometric patterns on the things it affects, which is quite similar to current Shigaraki's decay quirk geometry(mechanical) patterns which forms on the things he decays? Also shigaraki doesn't even have to touch things to decay, as already decaying things can spread the decay, furthermore Shiggy can now also control how his decay acts and when, kind of like a mashup of Decay quirk and Matter manipulation quirk.

Overhaul can only rearrange already existing matter. The reason why Overhaul can’t bring back what has been decayed by Shigaraki, is because Shigaraki’s decay completely disintegrates the matter in an area, Overhaul can’t create matter. He can’t create a person from dust. Want an example? Why didn’t Overhaul heal that Yakuza thug who got decayed by Shiggy after he jumped in to save Overhaul.

Jae Barika I’m sorry but I still don’t think overhaul despite having one of the if not the most op and versatile quirks in existence couldn’t be no.1 just because it’s not necessarily a speed boosting quirk. Not to mention, his attacks are extremely fast almost too fast for Lemillion, he just cannot propel himself with it (and who’s to say he cannot with formal training). But none of this matters because the JP hero rankings’ don’t rank based on who could beat who in a fight.

While incredibly unlikely, I think it is possible to see him being good. I’m coming more from the regret he felt when left on that stretcher, realizing his master was right all along. With these words haunting his head, and realizing the danger of the League of Villains, he could slowly grow into a better person. Plus, the motivation of getting his quirk back to save his master would be a great motivator. That’s just my 2C, though.

imo Mirio's quirk was pretty much the ideal counter to "Overhaul" (and tbh that applies to almost all touch activated quirks). "Overhaul" is a powerful quirk, yes, because it's incredibly versatile and has few real weaknesses, but it can be countered by specialized powers like Midnight's and Mirio's with the right conditions. And then there's just the "sheer brute force" strategy that Midoriya+Eri combo pulled off. Just hit him with so much power that it's an instantaneous 1HKO. Anything less than that and, naturally, he can just "Overhaul" himself to heal.

Overhaul's most powerful ability isn't even his deconstruction/reconstruction, it's his ability to merge people together. Imagine a merged Kirishima and Todoroki. That's maximum defense and maximum offence in one body. (Also good close range and good long range) Man's actually pretty OP. He's pretty game breaking, so it's no wonder Horikoshi nerfed him by taking his Quirk away.

If Overhaul was a hero, then that would have literally been the end of villains. If another hero got injured from a fight with a villain, he can just repair their body while the villain would be trying to recover for months. So with Overhaul's help, the heroes will be able to keep healing from some of the most severe injuries. While the villains wouldn't be able to. Which would mean the heroes will have a massive advantage.

@@AllOutGreatness yeah i had to check up on things as i didn't think they were right, his quirk relies on physical touch with his hands so the way i see it is thay either overhaul would gain his arm back through some means, something awakens his quirk or prosthetics could act as an extension of his quirk granted at a weaker power. I believe i probably got the prosthetic ability thing from a theory so take it with a grain of salt, plus I forgot about the compress part of it all hence why i thought he still had an arm left, sorry about that

Overhaul had two mayor weaknesses, imo, those weaknesses played a part in his loss against Mirio and Deku. First, he is used to end fight quickly. His Quirk is OP, a one touch of death ability, so the longer the fight the more his concentration begins to be worse. Specially if he fights against someone like Mirio who cannot be touched and that frustrated Overhaul even more. And second, he has (or had) next to none hand to hand combat experience, he isn't trained. Overhaul never made an attempt to evade Mirio's attacks, he just stood there trying to block his attacks (and we know that's usually with him) and never moved. That's tied to his arrogance maybe, being used to ending things with a touch as I said earlier, but if he had training in martial arts he would be even more fearsome. You'll then have so can end you with one touch of his finger who knows how to move, evade, counterattack and things like that. In my opinion, that's why he lost in the end. Frustrating that made him desperate (when he's calm he can be scary as hell, because he can actually plan his attacks like when he blocked Mirio's escape, when he healed his partner when Mirio threw him, etc) and lacking fighting experience. As far we know, we saw a flashback of him fighting in an arena of sorts but we never saw that experience put to use. My humble opinion, sorry for the long post, this lockdown had my thinking hahaha

A great quirk awakening for Overhaul could be that he can refine his skills to the point where they’re so precise that he can alter subatomic particles such as electrons and protons and neutrons, think about it, he could destroy atoms and subatomic particles and rearrange them in ways that never where thought possible to essentially fuse and “create” new elements pretty much, he could touch a swimming pool and basically turn it solid by destroying all the atoms and putting them back together in a fixed, set structure, therefor turning it solid, I don’t need to keep explaining the immense possibilities with this

I was thinking he could use his power on himself more. Like taking himself apart and fusing himself with the ground then popping out somewhere else. Moving parts of his body though walls like a hand or smth or maybe thriving himself into gas affecting anyone that it touches. Also firing part of his body out like projectiles made of his dna that could affect whoever it hits, like fingernails or smth like that.

He could just be a rescue hero like 13. They do both have destructive quirks that would work great for natural disasters, debris etc. Or he could be like UA's nurse. In a time of crisis he could just use overhaul on civilians therefore healing them

He would make a great hero, I think he would have rearranged his body structure with crystal, cement or metal to boost his combat effectiveness, strength and durability. Not to mention how great he would be in disaster clean up by rebuilding what is destroyed and heal the injured , he basically is the ultimate hero and would be number 1 basically indefinitely since he would never really get older since he can rearrange himself to stay younger

Overhaul would be number 1 in this scenario. He would join Endeavor's agency, keep up with the Flame heroes numbers of saving people, and use his high charisma to gain favouritism in the publics eye. Another possible outcome of him becoming a hero, would be through the hero commission. Becoming a hero along side Hawks and Lady Nagant.
