Frozen Planet II (2022)
This six-part series - narrated by Sir David Attenborough - explores the wildlife found in the world’s coldest regions: the Arctic and Antarctic, high mountains, frozen deserts, snowbound forests, and ice-cold oceans. From polar bears to penguins, and from snow monkeys to Siberian tigers, each species must overcome a unique set of challenges to endure its extreme environment.
Welcome to BBC EARTH! The world is an amazing place full of stories, beauty and natural wonder. Here you'll find 50 years worth of entertaining and thought-provoking natural history content. Dramatic, rare, and exclusive, nature doesn't get more exciting than this.

Painted turtles can survive freezing partly because they can control the formation of ice in their bodies. Dropping temperatures cue the turtle's liver to produce special proteins that cause very small ice crystals to form in fluids such as blood plasma and urine. Because the ice crystals are kept very small, damage to surrounding tissues is minimized. But no matter how small they are, ice crystals cause irreparable damage if allowed to form inside cells. So another adaptation allows painted turtles to protect their cells from ice damage. When ice begins to form outside the cells, the cells produce sugar compounds called cryoprotectants. Cryoprotectants protect the cells from damage and prevent the water inside the cells from freezing, much like the antifreeze in your car's radiator.

Yeah, I was wondering how these complex multicellular creatures could survive the process. I was only familiar with much smaller creatures being able to survive freezing.

@Censored Opinions "perfection" according to atheism is basically anything cannot die,or injured, hurted, broken, etc FOREVER. If that "thing" didn't fulfill the criteria above, then the "creator" will automatically be labeled as "fool" or stupid or unintelligent by atheism. So,what a logic you guys have...maybe next time you should complain why God didn't make human able to fly? Or have superhuman strength like superman? Cause you guys love to complain about everything?

I had a pet softshell turtle get out of its cage and fall behind the table one night, stayed out all night, and literally felt 100% frozen and dead.. This triggered a memory for me. It might sound funny but I was in jail for 2 years when I was young for something stupid. I remember we had no access to cold water , we drank room temperature water or sometimes even hot water (during the summer when the pipes get hot). After about a year I volunteered for work program so I can kill time faster... We had to go out and do some landscaping around the jail. Our crew boss (who was a state employee) gave us cold water from his igloo container at the back of the truck. That was my first time having cold water in over a year. It was the best thing I've ever drank in my entire life till this day. I will never forget that first cup of ice cold water.

And this is why I love the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It should have a scene where April thought the turtles are dead, until a brotherly revival moment begins and they slowly grasped their hands together in a group circle, and and broke out of their icy coffins, never realising they can do that. That’s when Mike said “ITS A MIRACLE,,” to himself.

Thus Allah brings the dead to life and shows you His Ayat (Signs), so that you may understand. And among His Signs (for the Day Resurrection), is that you see the earth barren; but when We send down water to it, it is stirred to life and growth. Verily, He Who gives it life, is surely Able to give life to the dead (on the Day of Resurrection). Indeed He is Able to do all things. He manages and regulates all affairs; He explains the Ayat (Signs) in detail, that you may in the meeting with your Lord, be certain. It is He Who takes your souls by night and has knowledge of all that you have done by day. Then He raises you up again so that a term appointed (of your life) be fulfilled, then (in the end) unto Him will be your return. Then He will inform you of that which you used to do. There is not a moving (living) creature on earth, nor a bird that flies with its two wings, except that they are communities like you. We have neglected nothing in the Book (of Decrees), then unto their Lord they (all) shall be gathered. Those who reject Our Ayat (Signs) are deaf and dumb in the darkness. Allah sends astray whom He wills and He guides on the Straight Path whom He wills. [Al-An'aam 6:38-39]

The next day one of the other in the group goes out to pay respects, cause he missed the funeral. What do they find? The turtle, outside, wantering around alive and well.
