Props for not cutting parts out to make it look easier. Changing tires, never a joke. I've always wanted to try those tires, but now, after watching you, I don't think I'd be able to fix a tube flat on the trail.

Wow those tires are scaring me away from them haha, and I've done a bunch of tires manually and with my machine. Kyle, you've done way more tire sets than me, but if I can share my lube of choice: RuGlyde is a game changer! I by it from NAPA here in the great white north. Goes on the drop center of the rim, rim itself and on the tire. Life is always better with good lube

Kudos to you for showing the mistakes, too. Changing tires isn't hard, with a Rabaconda, but there are things to remember. Those things to remember stick a little more when you make the mistakes.

For breaking the bead, only rotate a little bit to start. This helps with those soft sidewalls. I’ve done 6 sets of various tires on my AT and the Rabaconda works great.

I was a little nervous when you tied the strap off to the middle of two spokes, that you might bend them. Instructions recommend tying to the bottom stand leg and around the spoke nipple, and the spoke w/ the straightest line w/ the stand. I'm sure you know this, so watching what you did, as I said, made me more than a little nervous while you worked this helluva tough tire to mount. Wow, what a lot of work!!!! As others have said here, thanks for showing the mistakes, it's a crowd teacher.....

I have been using the Dsport on my Honda since they were released. Had one flat. In November, at 37 degrees at 6pm. I decided to just ride it home instead of trying to change the tube in that situation. Tire handled riding flat just fine for almost eight miles. I imagine I could get away with the same in this tire. - Frank

Great video. I’ve done several dsports and they were not too bad. I’ve got the 150mm 2track and it’s sitting there until it’s hot and I’ll let it sit in the sun and get plenty warm and then install onto t7 rim. Wish me luck! I’ve done many motoz. Several sets from many bikes and they are awesome but pricy. So I hope the tusk goes well!

A hard to mount tire with an incredibly thick tube? That is a true test. Not sure how a field repair would go on a cold day. That alone would keep me from running these with a tube. Very thorough video, good job.

Another great video from you! 🥰 Don't keep your little video jewels on the camera memory card too long... 🙂 Kyle; QUESTION if I may; you mention using a 4mm ultra duty Motoz inner tube; I'm really still in doubt if worthwhile; shouldn't we try to keep unsprung weight as low as possible, in general and particularly on a front wheel (turning / steering is easier when less heavy tires + tubes that generate less centrifugal mass). So.... ; heavy inner tubes or save weight with thin inner tubes on rear and front rims ?? THANKS!

Thanks for watching! Yeah, this one was long and it wasn't too fun of a night... I was procrastinating and did not have time for it either... LOTS of reasons it took so long. I will do better at getting them out in 2025. Regarding tubes, I prefer the 3mm HD over the 4mm UHD as a general rule. If a HD is not available, I will go UHD. I always prefer Natural rubber over Butyl rubber every time. If the tire itself has a weak sidewall and is not "strong" I will opt for the 4mm UHD. If the tire itself is crazy stiff and protective, I'll run a standard or HD tube. Different choices for different bikes too... Super heavy ADV bikes I always run HD or UHD tubes. Light bikes with less HP ... I choose lighter tubes. It really depends.

The Tusk 2 tracks do require more attention when mounting, and if you were trying to convince people not to buy them you did an excellent job! Obviously you were tired and it showed, but that's not the tire's fault.

Thanks for your feedback. I have mounted hundreds and hundreds of tires and these are much tougher than any tire I had yet encountered. They are great tires, but the installation was dificult. Have you mounted them? I watched the Tusk guys STRUGGLE at the RMATV Rally recently. Three of them wrestling the tires... It is a tough tire. Many KZbin accounts show it too. I almost didn't produce it as this production is a mess... so many mistakes. I was tired. It is long... BUT you all have requested me to release it time and time again. Here it is.

@@manybikes Yes I have mounted a set on my Tuareg, rear one twice with the recall. I also will be mounting new ones when these wear out. I only have a tire stand that I use with regular tire irons. I try to never use anything that I won't have when I'm out on a BDR route. So far I have not had to change one on the trail, and do not look forward to having to. As I mentioned earlier, you were tired and made a few errors that complicated the process a lot. I'm sure the next time you probably won't have the same issues. Thanks for the content!

Funny.... You "wouldn't" want to change tires/fix a flat on the trail? Well, with these tires, you "COULDN'T" change these tires on the trail - unless you brought along 6 spoons 2 C-clamps and 3 guys helping you! Luckily, they're so stiff, they're akin to run-flat tires. You could easily ride them with no air in them for 40-50 miles (at low speed)!
