Rocks are heavy and expensive and hard to work with, so too often pond builders only add the rocks needed to define the waterfall and pond. You end up the very artificial volcano and string of pearls look. This pond does it right. The waterfalls appear to flow through a naturally rocky hillside. The “unnecessary” rocks around the water feature integrate it with the surroundings. Great design.

@@Tusseylandscaping do you mind me asking the thought process when placing boulders at the other side of the pond? What I mean is, is there a process you follow to make them look like they've always been there? Is it just a matter of having an eye for it or is there any "rules of thumb" you follow?
@Tusseylandscaping4 жыл бұрын
There's definitely an aspect to the "eye" part of it. But a couple things that are rules of thumb is dig the boulders in. A lot of boulder landscapes I see the boulders just look at if they're plopped on top of the ground. Second, pay attention to the natural "seam" or lines in the rock, and install it level. Nothing looks worse than a boulder on an angle that looks at if it's sliding down the hill

Great job! How do you figure out what size pump you need? How do you figure out how many Aquablocks you need?
@Tusseylandscaping4 жыл бұрын
It's basically figuring out what your head pressure is and then selecting the pump for the amount of flow you want. As far as the aquablocks you just want enough of water volume to about double the amount it takes to fill and run the stream
@jerriwynn27544 жыл бұрын
Thank you :) Appreciate the quick response.

The water over the top entry fall is class weston, have you used a hidden spillway or filling a back void???...beautiful ,beautiful effect
@Tusseylandscaping4 жыл бұрын
You talking about the top waterfall? There's one spillway there feeding the sheet part of that falls, then 2 9PL's pumping in to a void behind boulders just to the right of that sheet, no spillways, just pipe, to get a thick turbulent trough of water kicking in from the side. Then the natural pond's over flow flows in under that sheet falls and exits to the left of that sheet, about half the height of the sheet

How does one make an Island in a pond!?
@Tusseylandscaping4 жыл бұрын
Need a lot of room. But I would recommend building the island out of boulders, and then filling the void space in the boulders with gravle until you rise above water level, then seperation fabric and topsoil. I wouldnt build the island by stretching your liner over a mound of dirt in the middle of the pond unless you're talking huge area.
