This video was so easy to follow. Love the way you made the heel and didn't have a hole on the end of the toe. I took two days to make one sock but have to do other things so it wasn't constant. Use regular yarn and a fuzzy yarn and use the e-wrap for all the stitches. First one came out great. Now working on the mate. Thank you Tuteate.

Thank you I do believe I can do that. Your video was extremely helpful. Thank you so much. I love how you made it so I wouldn't need extra knitting needles to do the toe part. For cuff to toe socks. I was going to attempt the toe up socks starting with a Kitchener stitch or something like that. But yours actually looks much easier. I may eventually try toe up Kitchener (I hope I am spelling and using the correct term.) But I am gonna try yours first. Love it. And it looked like you were using regular yarn not sock yarn. I don't have sock yarn so I am really happy for that as well. Thank you, thank you.

Tuteate, your tutorial is great. Socks on a loom always look like they'd be difficult, but after watching your video, it gave me great confidence. I'm not a fan of the flat stitch though, so I will be trying different things with each pair that I make, to see which techniques work best for me. Regarding the looseness of the heel, can it be done where you wrap the peg 3 times then pull the bottom loop over the upper 2 loops? I use this on hats I make and it makes it less 'holey'. I've not tried it yet on bits where there is no full round, but I wonder if anyone else has had success with it?
@Tuteate10 жыл бұрын
Julie Vernon hi! I think you must be right, the problem may be solved by working the sides of the heel in the way you said :) Thank you so much for your tip (let's see if anybody in this room has tried this)
@julie-annlovatt-neevernon869110 жыл бұрын
Once I've finished the pair I'm working on (it's taking me ages, with it being my first ever pair lol), if no one else has tried it and posted their results, I'll try it on the next pair and let you know how it goes.
@julie-annlovatt-neevernon869110 жыл бұрын
Tuteate I thought I'd update you on how I've got on with the socks. I made bed socks for my Grandad for Christmas (or he can wear them as slipper socks if he wishes). I used a loom that has extra pegs which I bought from an online store. With the extra pegs giving a smaller gauge, it allowed for a tighter stitch on the heel. They came out pretty good for a beginner. The first pair I started, I was not happy with because of the heel being loosely stitched, so I'm going to restart it, luckily I had only done about three quarters of the first sock.
@ΧριστίναΜαγουλα-β1ξ4 жыл бұрын
Trying to figure out how to do this with no holes on the sides when finishing heel. Have you figured it out. I like this heel because easy to make but The holes in the end disappoint me..so I'm not going to continue with this heel unless there is some solution. Thanks.

I just finished my first sock. Great video!! This was the first thing I have ever knit, so I am very impressed :) I was wondering though, should this fit an adult? Mine fit my 9yr old (size 3 shoes) perfectly. I coulod not get the sock on over my heel :( It was just too tight to fit on me. Could I have knit it too tight? I`d really love a pair for myself! Any suggestions welcome :)
@Tuteate10 жыл бұрын
Ashley Keddy hi! How thick is your yarn? We used a yarn for knitting needles of 6mm-7mm and the result fit an adult. If the cuff is too tight, maybe you could try working it in elastic stitch (1knit - 1 purl) as we did for this hat: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qIGpq6eaZZZnaa8

Is there a reason you switch to e-wrap stitch for the heel and toe? I'm finding that my e-wrap heel is loose and ugly compared to the rest of the sock (which might just be because I'm still a newbie), so I'm wondering what the effect would be to leave it as u-wrap stitch like the rest of the sock.
@SuziQZ8 жыл бұрын
I have been loom knitting for a few years. Just learning socks. I made a pair for my husband and had the same problem. So i did the entire sock ( except the brim) in a u knit stitch. Came out perfect.
