Lots of these clips look like a very creative way to win a Darwin Award! Back in the late 70's I flew a Schluter MiniBoy with no gyro. It was a hand full. I still have that machine.

🙀Bei den ganzen Köpfen auf Rotorhöhe kann man ja froh sein, dass jemand überlebt hat um uns die Geschichte zu erzählen

I feel bad for the "training gear" on that decade. But thx, you guys are history maker!

I met Dieter in 1977. He was over in the U.S. showing off his twin rotor Chinook RC Heli. Stormy's right, the DuBro's were impossible to fly but the Schluter's could be flown with about 20 hours practice. What we wouldn' t have given back then for a gyro!

Wunderbar zum zusehen. Danke fürs hochladen! Wieviele Fingeramputationen und Fleischwunden in den Beinen hatten die wohl zu beklagen?

No gyro yaw was wild. Bring back no gyro flight sessions. I had a great time flying a perfect gear ratio AIR HOGS throttle only chopper. I could fly it in lines, triangles, squares, and land it, no crashes, but strictly hand launch, with throttle blips. Was great $20 investment, flew it to shreds, but saved the main and tail rotors, very great crash forgiving design.

Just crazy!!! Just to think... NO Gyros, No 4-1's... Nothing... Transmitters that had sliders instead of sticks. It's amazing how people were actually able to fly those things.

@Fred001D01 The old heli's seen in the video were basically unflyable. The designers had zero flying practice for the most part and couldn't perfect their machines. Think about it - Which came first; The pilot or the heli? Today's models are extremely 'easy' to fly as evidenced by the number of models in production and the many video clips here on youtube. "We've" come a long, long way!
