Just to note, I have spoken a few months ago with the guys at bluecfd, and they told me that they were planning to do a new vr of the project where it would automatically sync with of Fondation vr. It was the idea at least...

Hi, thank you for the helpful video. I have one question regarding running OpenFOAM via WSL on a Windows machine. I am thinking of buying a workstation. But I am not too familiar with ubuntu OS. So I just wondering what the limitation or difference when running OpenFOAM in WSL windows and pure ubuntu machines is?

This application failed to start because no Qt platform plugin could be initialized. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem. Available platform plugins are: eglfs, linuxfb, minimal, minimalegl, offscreen, vnc, xcb. Aborted . I am getting this error can you please help? I have followed each and every step mentioned in the video.

Hlo Sir , I have to compare dambreak case with interfoam solver which is inbuilt in openfoam v2112 and interflow solver in two phase flow that I downloaded from github. Sir how to run that case in this interflow solver which I downloaded. Do I need to copy the case from interfoam to interflow ?? Please help

Hello, Thank you so much for the video :). I have a problem with paraview (PV) where I cannot access my data files that I have created using OpenFoam (OF). I have followed tha installation steps at the OP website. Your method of installing OP is a bit different than that of the creator website.

You’re talking about magnetic levitation? I don’t think Openfoam can simulate electromagnetic physics. Not sure if any software has electromagnetic-fluid interactions… fluent?

@@Feaforall : Never used OpenFOAM but I am sure COMSOL does it. And EM can be applied through Maxwell equations or there are other ways as well. Should be done through OpenFOAM as well.

Check how the copy works in Linux. The syntax should be “cp -r path1 path2” You forgot path2 If you are copying in the current folder, then path2 is just a dot “.”

This means that you entered a second command after “simplefoam” in the command line when you executed it and you shouldn’t.

Yes, I am sure you can install openfoam in Ubuntu 20.04. Look at the error and try to solve it. Maybe you lack a software dependency or a compiler.

How are you running openfoam on windows? Do you use WSL to run Linux and installed openfoam on it? Mesa is some software used in Linux to emulate the graphic card to display stuff, so maybe you are getting this warning because the graphic card is not installed or detected. That’s just a guess as you didn’t provide much information

I cannot open paraview. Looks like you are on a machine which doesn’t have a X Server, so paraview can’t open its graphic window. Are you on a virtual cloud machine? Or are you on the windows bash ? In the first case, you can install a special version of paraview with Mesa to use paraview without X server ( that’s a bit complex to set up but doable). In the 2nd case, you can install the windows version of paraview and open your openfoam results in windows/paraview rather than using the paraview version shipping with openfoam.

I also installed paraview in ubuntu with the following command: sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install paraview. And i also installed a windows version of paraview. But how can i use paraview now with openfoam?
