Love these tutorials. I am doing an online external course that involves heavy use of OpenGL. You explain things 1,000,000 times more simply than my lecturer! I have been going around in circles for weeks. I have learnt more in a few minutes listening you than I have in 2 months. Thank you :)

I'm with you... I thought about writing a book kind of in the same vein as this because I had similar problems when I was first learning. Glad the videos help!

Wow, these are very professional tutorials, thanks, moving from java to c++, and don't like the nastiness of the win32 API so this is perfect for me. Great videos ;)

Glad you're enjoying them! Hopefully, these show that OpenGL isn't as bad as some folks make it out to be.

Is all of this considered "Modern Opengl" or are there newer ways to do it?
@jeffchastine
@jeffchastine 10 жыл бұрын
Well, it's "modern enough" (and let me explain). OpenGL went through a drastic overhaul in architecture several years ago, switching from a "fixed function pipeline" to a shader-based pipeline. Surprisingly, there weren't many tutorials/lectures on this (professors are slow to move), so I decided to post this series. However, it's not the "bleeding edge" of OpenGL, so perhaps there are some new features that allow things to be done easier/cleaner.
