Thanks for the great tip! I've even tried taping the numbers around the tools (they won't stay on). When the weather clears, I'm going to try your tip. Until then, I'll have to go with the chart I made to sit in front of the holder.

Great idea. The sanded sides have that popular "distressed" look...jk. Thx for sharing.

After painting white, you could have gone over the numbers with a Sharpie as well to avoid sanding the white off of the block itself. As you said, not a beauty contest but thought I'd throw in my 2 cents! :)

I had my sister bench grind the sharp ends. Dang! Stabbed my self so many times ... now no matter what side I use 👍

I am only now "working up the courage" to try doing a mandala (I bought a set of pips). However, quite a while ago, I ran across your tutorials and bought the Pittsburgh punch set like shown in this video. Now, however, your videos are using a different dotting tool set ("Marks Mandalas Dotting Tools"). Can you provide a "translation" from the new tools to the punch set sizes so that I can do your new tutorials using the punch set? Thanks.

I discovered the transfer punch set the first month I started dotting. There are so many items being used for dotting I want to standardize it all with my tools. The sizes on my tools don't refer to metric or imperial they are only in reference to each other. I did this to simplify dotting so you don't have to have knowledge of either metric or imperial sizes.

Now if you/we can find a way to mark the tools them selves. I never dare to take out more than one at a time if they are close in size. I have two that I second guess them being in the right hole.

Most of them that are the size larger will not fit in the next smallest hole but unfortunately this is not 100% of the time. I agree figuring out a way to easily mark the tools would be nice.

Marks Mandalas -paint the middle of the tool with a stripe -using either a color coding system to correspond with the size or simply labeling the size in the middle of the tool on the stripe for easy reading.

I haven't yet tried this, but am going to...Paint the numbers on the sides with gel nail polish and then cure with UV/LED lamp. I already have/use these items on my nails and I think it would be perfect. Once cured, it's rock hard and really hard to remove. You can buy mini 'lamps' that look like a keyring torch (sort of), for a couple of dollars. So one of those and a bottle of gel polish would be a cheap solution.

I was on vacation most of April and I apologize for how long it has taken me to respond. Harbor Freight Tools carry these transfer punches and have by far the best price.
