This is one of the few yarn dyeing videos I've seen that shows what the yarn looks like knitted up. I really appreciate that! It gives me much more information.

I am new to using hand dyed yarns, much less dyeing them myself, but I want to try soon. I really enjoyed this video, especially seeing the end result of how it knits up!! Thanks so much for showing that, very few people do.

Helpful videos! but i have a question do you put yarn in the oven with 300 celsius degrees or different degrees?

The degrees is Fahrenheit.

Please please use a respirator when mixing stock or speckling. I do like seeing the yarn knitted in various ways.

can you use your kitchen oven? I know you said not to dye in the kitchen
@knitpicksOfficial Жыл бұрын
I do use my kitchen oven. The reason I recommend not dying in the kitchen is to remove the risk of the acid dye getting on any of my cooking utensils/food surfaces. When I do dye using the oven, I do all of the prep work in my dying space. I always put aluminum foil tightly over the top of the pan; that keeps the humidity in which dyes the yarn, but also keeps the dye in the pan and out of the oven. Once I'm ready to put the pan in the oven, it goes straight from the dye station into the oven, then straight from the oven to a cooling rack on my dye station.

Please wear a mask!

I've watched several of these videos. Where is your mask? No one should dye without a safety mask to prevent inhalation of dye.
