Very interesting. The instructions I received with my Goldstar tool (July 2020), clearly state the grommet goes on the bottom. Every size I tried failed to completely close the grommet and left a sharp edge. I'll try with the grommet on the top and see if that works, otherwise I'll have to return it.

I have this press from gold star. I bought #2 grommets and matching dies from gold star. I have yet to successfully attach the grommet. I carefully watched and followed this video. what could I possibly be doing wrong?

Help, I tried putting the male grommet on the top with the washer on the bottom and I am unable to press the grommet press down, If I put the male grommet on the bottom and the washer on the top, I can press it down but it only pushes half of the grommet thru. What am i doing wrong? It looks so easy. I am using the dies that came with the press for the larger grommet. I even tried the smaller ones, same result.

Save your time and money. Contrary to what the video says, you can ONLY use their grommets as they apparently don't use the same size system as the rest of the industry.
