Here is a tutorial on my newest engine, a compact Inline 2 LVE! It uses a unique valve layout, which I call Parallel SVS. Its that layout that allows the engine to be approximately 25% smaller than my other i2 engines. Hope you guys enjoy!

I'm suprised 747 didn't mention this but this design is very easy to boost, much easier than a traditional design I really really like this design overall, I plan to attempt a inline four cylinder using this design, should make it a lot easier and make the manifold easier, hope you weren't already planning this haha

Something that I've found while making lego vacuum engines is that if you put a bracing at the other end of the fly wheel and attach it to the base, it runs much smoother and gives better performance Just wanted to point that out :D Also I love this engine :P

Butterfly won't work in multi-cylinder configs because of the way it leaks during the up stroke. The leak will rob the power from the other cylinder.

I’ve made multiple vacuum engines with the Lego crank arm, and have come upon the same issue with all of them. The crank is not strong enough to handle the power that is being made. I have solved this by taking two of the plates that have a double connector and gluing them together, but it’s not a permanent solution. Does anybody have any ideas for a more permanent solution?

you should buy a tachometer so that you accurately measure the rpms of the engines. i use one all the time and they are fairly cheap. the lve i built today spins at 2500 rpm.

Would having an exhaust valve benefit a 1 cylinder engine?
@taylor842
@taylor842 3 жыл бұрын
I would imagine that If you are using a turbine or supercharger concept added to your engine, an exhaust valve would help release any extra pressure that is built up in the piston chamber. I dont know for sure though.
@username3244
@username3244 2 жыл бұрын
On these engines, the one valve operates both functions of intake and exhaust contrary to the real counterparts that have at least 2 or up to 5 valves per cylinder.

@KFPlus Lego Mastery does increasing the cylinders in quantity improve the rpm and the torque of the wheel? because after all, it is all from one vacuum suction.
@KFPlusLegoMastery
@KFPlusLegoMastery 3 жыл бұрын
In fact it does, because of the fact that the power is more evenly distributed and not completely wasted on one cylinder, you’re able to get more torque as well as a smoother engine in general because of more consistent power delivery. It’s definitely hard to explain and worth its own video to go into depth.

Just was thinking, if u want more efficacy, maybe oiling the chain could help... in my engineering class we used brake part cleaner and deoiled a chain and measured how fast it run. Then we oiled it and it went a bit faster. Also, could u use the design of a butterfly valve and just remove the regular valve and swap the pistons out witj those?
@Catz0125
@Catz0125 3 жыл бұрын
Butterfly won't work on multi-cylinder engines. Since the cylinder leaks while on the non-power stroke, it will rob all the power from the other cylinders.

@@shlushe1050 they are lying. Butterfly engines DO work im multi cylinder, they just need to be non offset i already built a 2 cylinder butterfly before and it worked great, the pistons need to be non offset
@taylor842

@@smallenginesgarage7168 clever Idea. so since butterfly engines release air going down, you cant have an offset on the pistons since that air leak robs all power from any other power stroke?
