This supports the idea for lip syncing(in my opinion). I believe that doing the all the steps count, but I also believe that the mouth should move in a certain that correlates with the character's personality. More stiff, or more loose, doesn't matter. Just a suggestion :)

As someone who’s now graduated from lip sync college (that was a lie lol), I would recommend not adding inbetweens. Instead, u should add bounces. Example, an A pose would like, after the closed mouth (going to the a), u should make that mouth more stretched downwards, then making it go back to the original mouth. Ofc, it works different for everyone and not everyone is gonna like the same style

How I Animate Lip-syncs If the character is forming an 'O' letter, Then its mouth will stretch outwards, or upwards. (It will become thinner yet taller) If the character is forming an 'E' letter, its mouth will become less tall and more wide, same with most other letters. if the character is forming an 'F' or 'C' letter, It will close its mouth and bare its teeth.
