You could use this pattern however I think it would be a little different since the 2A has so many sidewall holes

Is there any benefit of doing interlocks rather than knots?

If you are looking for a pocket that will shift more interlocks will be the way to go. However if you use knots that strung correctly you won't have to adjust your pocket as much.
