Nice and easy and look great. Great method to enclose the ribbon tie inside the cover. Definitely will be using this. 🤗 .... I would love to see a tutorial on how you made the sewn white/ivory canvas cover journals. You posted a video to show a batch of them that you had completed. The stitching was very loose and free-flowing and went around the edges several times.

Hi Tracie! Absolutely love how clear and simple this cover is. I just made a “practice” one with some of my fabric extras, half a Manila file folder and a ribbon closure. In order to keep it relatively free of bubbling, I used glue tape in a few strategic places. It looks amazing and I am ready to make one and fill it as a junk journal for a gift to someone special🌹. Thank you so much for this tutorial and I wish you fab days from now on!💐

Love this for a single signature gift journal....I love soft cover journals with an inch and a half spine/room for a 2 signature journal. I just have many yards of the regular light cotton fabric that we get over here either by the yard or in "fat quarters"...and I am wondering how to put that together in a soft cover, so far I have tried using light weight cardstock between the light fabric on outside and using a medium weight muslin or linen type on the inside..still experimenting ...it's a learning experience for sure . Thanks for sharing this video ...just ran across it, wanting to get lots of different ideas and love your work ! K.

Hello tracie, thank you for another lovely video. I'm sorry you had a meltdown.... The thing is recently I've been frustrated and we'll sort of stunted really, and you've made me realise that I've been feeling like I have is because I'm trying to do crafts and process the same as everyone else.... Everyone! Lol, I'm just not the same crafter as everyone else...eg: beading work, shabby chic, clay work, I've been zen tangling, journaling ( new to me but love it) even that's not simple though is it? So many different styles..You mentioned Jen of eve , I have an all lot of her templates andI guess she is my 'style'and although as you say it is good to go out of your comfort zone.... But not too the extent were we get upset?..... I think after watching you today I will be back on track to my usual crafty self tomorrow. Thank you Tracie I really enjoy your work. XX Trish xx

Great tutorial Tracie and fantastic to see a variation of fabric application. However, I’d like to mention there is a product called Heat n Bond or Bond a Web, which is perfectly fine and has been specifically designed to be ‘sewing machine friendly’ for example when working with appliqués and the like. I have been using Heat n Bond for years without any problems to my sewing machine whatsoever and I recently made a fabric journal cover using Heat n Bond Lite. You may like a KZbinr called Julia (StitchesbyJulia) she demonstrates some very interesting projects where she utilises this product, particularly when she does free-motion machine stitching ❤️
@pamketron

I am planning on trying to make some for teacher gifts this year and I can’t decide if I want to use card stock which I have a lot of or buy some interfacing and try that.
