I just bought one of these over the weekend and I’m infatuated with it. As someone who commutes over 100 miles a day this purchase was a no brainer.
@JMiranda7103 жыл бұрын
I get around 55-57 mpg. I drive 160 miles a day. About 98% highway. 62mph is the sweet spot on Cruise control. The engine turns off and uses the hybrid mode when it’s level ground or down hill. When not using cruise control you can use the electric motor alone with the engine off, up to 70 mph BUT you have to be progressive with the gas pedal. I bought mine in July 2021, I already have 15,000 miles! No regrets. I get about 550 miles per tank. Only has a 10 gallon gas tank.

Jeff, just subscribed, I have owned two Toyotas a 2010 Prius, which I sold to a friend last year and now has nearly 200,000 trouble free miles. The other one is our current 2020 Highlander Hybrid AWD LE model. MPG's on the highlander are averaging above 35 MPG and with summer a few tanks nearing or over 40 MPG, which is super fuel efficient for a 4,500 lbs vehicle. If somebody wanted a car that is super reliable, safe and has the highest fuel MPG's the best choice would be a new Toyota Corolla Hybrid, which you could be pretty confident that you will get 200,000 trouble free miles and average well over 50 MPG, and when you do go to sell it you will have a high resale value as gas by then will be well over $5.00 per gallon probably over $6.00 per gallon the way things are going....

The B mode on the shifter is for Brake / Battery regeneration. While the car is moving slowly on a downgrade, you can shift to that and it will recharge the big EV battery. Shift back to D when you want to get up to speed again

@T R I agree, they sell the e-AWD Hybrid wagon in Japan and two versions of the FWD Hybrid wagon in Europe. The RAV4 Hybrid is a fine vehicle but it comes with a 10-12 mpg penalty compared to the Corolla Hybrid wagon and that really adds up over time. When the Corolla Cross Hybrid arrives it will split the mpg difference.

I own the 2.0 version and in Europe we have so much more options added. Really a whole list of extras compared to this car. But... the sedan version (witch I personally like a lot) is quite rare here, we have the hatchback and the Touring Sport extended version. The car, especially the 2.0 is very fast on speed from the trafficlight-stop to the 30 mph in the city 😊 (or even more). My former car was an Audi 3.0t A6 prestige (yes.. US model) with all options, although this car is not compareable to the Toyota (appels and pears) it is really fantastic and a pleasure to drive ☆☆☆☆☆ and happy with it and yes it sure gets you about 2.5 times further on the same amount of gas 😊
