I got an advice. i personaly hate when somone is posting a tutorial and doesnt play it before they're trying to explain. i sometime watch 15 minutes of a video to realise it doesnt even sound like i want. In conclusion i think that you should play it at the beging of the video. thanks

I have to agree with ovidiu simionescu, I like to hear the song before I dive into the lesson. It gives me more autonomy and liberty in my learning because I know where the lesson is going.

Agreed wholeheartedly and good constructive criticism is positive. First, play the song through. Then, give me the facts, especially on a classic like this (aka composer, time period, key it is played in, length of song). Any relevant facts to set up the lesson. Next, break the song up, explain the chord changes, fingerings and transitions. All of this, leads to a better experience for the student.

Yeah i think so too. I find if i can hear it in my head when learning it Ill generally get a decent approximation of it in a few tries. If i im just trying to piece it together it takes far longer.

Im actually a direct descendant from King HenryVIII and theirs been disputes on if he created this song for his last wife when he proposed to her. Its a crazy thought that one of my ancestors could have created this delightful song, I really enjoy your classical guitar playing to it. I wish you could here my music and my interpretation of this song aswell. Kudos

I really enjoyed following this tutorial - love your style. As an eternal-begginner I got playing within an hour or two which is very satisfying. I had to figure out some of the right-hand picking as you don't mention it, but the breakdown of the song really helped to conquer it. Thanks!

Magical Pork Studios Don't say that just because you couldn't, maybe another noob can do it. And it is'nt as hard as it seems, just place your fingers to perform a C chord, then place your 5° finger in the third fret 1st string. Then just release your second finger from 4th string. Sorry for non native english

you read it like the strings are going from the bottom of the page to the top, meaning the bottom line of the tab will represent the low E string, the second line A, third D ect.. and the numbers that are in each line represent the fret you are suppose to press. for example E|--3 B|--3 G|--0 D|--0 A|--2 E|--3 if this comes out right the tab i just wrote is just a G chord, meaning you need to put your finger on the 3rd fret for E, 2nd fret on A, D and G open, and the 3rd fret on B and E

I don't know if you will get this, but recently my grandfather passed away and he was a Marine. I was wondering if you could do a fingerstyle rendition of the "Halls of Montezuma" so I can play it for my family. It would be appreciated. Also in the "Greensleeves" lesson, when you talk about playing it different ways what are all the chords you play when you mix the chords and picking parts.

A general question. I'll state up front I have no music talent. None. I have a good ear and can tell when something sounds right or is a little off. I can anticipate what the next note should sound like, but I can't make it come out my fingertips. I know a few strumming patterns and chord progressions, but since I can't sing, those are pretty much useless. My goal in music is to be able to fingerpick a recognizable melody. I've been at this Greensleeves every day for a couple weeks, and can kind of bumble through it, but it's slow and mechanical and strictly by rote. If I stay at it for a few more weeks or months and finally get to where I can play it somewhat like this guy does, will the next melody I try to learn come a little easier, or wil it be the same agonizing process all over again? Will I spend the rest of my life playing Greensleees and remembering I have to be somewhere else if someone asks me to play something else? A repertoire of one?
