Just pure information, this was fantastic. I'm pretty new to Blender so I did a lot of pausing but that's because there was so much detail in the instruction.

I just finished the tutorial by following along in Blender, as this will be my first real testprint for my soon to come E3D. I really learned a lot, thx! Just one note to the others that like to follow along: On 2 occasions the voice says CTRL-S, but the screencast says SHIFT+S. The latter is right, so do not get stuck there, this was the only part that threw my off for a bit. Can't wait to hold this in my hands :)

Excellent tutorial, very clear and concise. I have printed a few scaled to different sizes and the result is excellent. Also the knurled pattern gives good grip and reduces the effect of layer lines. For users of Blender 2.8 don't forget to tick the checkbox on the online script where you input the values.

Thank you for this great video. How would you calculate the difference between the bottom and top profile detailed information you put in your calculator please? or what is the difference between the 2 information you input for the bottom part first and the last one for the top profile for the h1 , h2, h3 and h4 please? If I wanted to make my own I need to find this please. and one more question if I wanted to have 4 thread to twist at the same level and make a screw , do you have any calculator for this please? thank you very much again for your time and info!

At 3:27, you have an entire loop selected, and you move the loop upwards to align the loops before merging. But when I try this step, I get the top of the loop protruding above the max height. How are you doing this step exactly? I feel like I'm missing something. I'm on Blender 3.3.1
@ConorFenlon Жыл бұрын
The function is known as "Edge Slide", and can easily be performed by selecting the edge or vertex you want to slide, and then hitting G twice in succession. 👍

@JeremyNaus4 жыл бұрын
SUCCESS! 🥳. For those trying this under blender 2.8: F3 is your friend => F3 + type in what you want to do and it will give you the option + link to where to find it next time. Sometimes if things don't go as wanted, e.g. Bridge Edge Loops, it means you probably selected too much verteces or too little.

On my machine when I select the "Spin" command (I use spacebar as a command search window, type spin, and hit enter) the spin parameters are shown on a window at the lower left, at the top are fields for Steps and Angle. Hope this helps.

"remove doubles" is now "mesh->merge by distance." "Spin" is "mesh->extrude->spin." Blender key bindings change regularly so "Press W" is not very helpful (is now 'edge->bridge edge loops'.
