Tutorial: How to place orders on alibaba and not die trying

Woo! I'm back, and with a tutorial that is not artsy! GASP! . I recently got my enamel pins i made with alibaba and after talking to a few people i decided to share my alibaba tutorial of how to contact and place and order!. I hope it's helpful , sorry for talking too fast and get my tongue twisted in a few parts, please enjoy and ask all the questions you want, i will try to answer them my best!.

I can't because usually they reply overnight. Also payment and shipping options depend on each manufacturer you have to ask them directly there is no global options.

Excellent tutorial, thank you! Does it usually cost a lot more to have more custom products made? Did you negotiate a price, or did they just give you a price after learning what you wanted?

Custom products are always expensive since well, they are custom made! though alibaba makes it extremely cheaper if you compare prices with like zap creatives or acornpress or chillypig for example. I tried to negotiate prices when i made my enamel pins but there was no way to haggle, they give you a set price and the only way to lower it is to order more. Like if you ask for 10 enamel pins they give you 10 dollars each, if you ask for 20 it downs to 5 and so and so (for example). they need to know every detail of what you want with your product and quantity to give you a final price + shipping cost. It's all about telling the provider what you want

that was around 260 usd considering the shipping for 150+ charms i think. the more you do the cost starts dropping. but you always have to consider a minimum of 30 to 40 usd for shipping (at least for chile idk other countries) i would say expect to be prepared to spend around 250 to 300 if you are doing an order on your own. Otherwise you can join the AAIN group order and lower your cost via doing a group order with some other people so you reach a larger volume of charms and lower the price even more. also thank you and good luck !

Helloo i have one question about the person that you couldnt recommend but you linked in your description U said the person went on vacation and didnt do the keychains and you had spent your money already.. so you got nothing? Does this mean they scammed you or you got refunded? I was curious about this

No, we just didn't go trough the whole transaction. I didn't send the money and they didn't make my stuff. No scams. I just recommended it because they guided me trough the process of making the charms and how i needed the files and how to make the payment. They were nice and patient. BUT and this a big but, i returned this year to make charms and let's say they were far from friendly now and the charms didn't look their best.

I have the application on mobile phone when i want place a sample order and click "start order" there a bank i have to fill in and it says; unit price (4) Select units -------------------- ------------------Piece(s) Quantity __________________________Piece(s) Total price:0.00 USD Shipping address ____Add a shipping adress__________ Shipping method _____Select Shipping Method_________ _____Shipping date__________ Days after the initial payment was received ______Initital payment____________ USD Balance payment __0___________________________USD Remark__________ confrim Could you tell me what of each of these mean and how to go about it also is this menu protected by trade assurance? if you are reading this please reply back i be greatly appreciated

I did't really filled a form i did all my orders via messages. Also im not sure, alibaba got its own protection methods for purchases but i haven't read anything bout them. You'd have to go by customer reviews to see if its safe.

How did you set up invoicing and pay for it?

If you use paypal they will give you their invoice as a link or just their paypal adress, then a confirmation of payment and its all done.

HI please could you tell me what about if I can buy 1 unit and there is trade assurance option , I have been told by alibaba help desk that my Supplier have option start order now , as I told them that I have problem to contact Supplier (no respond) they told me that I can place my order str8 away and when I send them screenshot where price for sample is 200$-300$ so they told me that is up to me how much I want to pay as the price is for negotiations but it have to be 200-300 USD , after when i Ask about shipping they told me again that's up to me and the whole cost will showes up after submit , when I will place order supplier have to approved and I doing payment after is IT really like that ?is everythink so Simple that I don't have to even contact Supplier before order ?

I dont know if there is trade assurance honestly and check on the MOQ if theya ccept 1 unit only. Since alibaba is mostly mass production they need a MOQ of 100 usually. Does the price on the front page of the company matter?

Yes but always ask what's the Qt vs price scale they have. sometimes it says 0.5usd but that can be for 1000 units

You would have to check the provider if they allow that. It's on the "minimum order" but it's usually more expensive than if you bought in a big volume.

I ordered 30 acrylic pins from Alibaba 12 days ago, it hasn't been shipped yet and they haven't sent me any messages since, or confirmation on cutline if they are supposed to do that dunno. But Is this normal? Or am I supposed to message them? I'm still so confused on How this thing works..

You have to ask them, they usually take business 2 weeks to a month to complete an order.

you can actually do that but you have to find a company that actually takes 1 . usually they take minimum 10 orders :)

@Hakuna Matata My experiences with my products might difer from yours. Again as i said in the video the most important thing is taht you TALK and ASK anything you want to your manufacturer because they are different from one another and they all got their methods in doing their stuff.
