On my 2006 there are 2 plastic rectangular plugs that can pop out of the black door insert. If you roll down the window to the correct position, you can unscrew the 2 bolts holding the window to the regulagor without removing the entire black shrouding.

I'm pretty sure the manual states you can remove the motor and the reach through the speaker to remove the regulator.
