Glad to have you here - I hope my content is useful for understanding Judaism and the theological perspectives and sacred practices that we hold dear in our community. Happy learning!

Did you make that tallit katan? It's lovely. I got one from a women's company years and years ago but I don't think they are in business anymore.
@asmallsanctuary Жыл бұрын
I did not - I bought it from The Tzitzit Project and they are awesome (if you check my tallit/tzitzit playlist you can find a video on it). Their website is www.tzitzitproject.com (as is their Instagram) and I highly recommend them!

@@asmallsanctuary thankyou so much. I'm going to agonise over the price and the shipping costs to Europe for a bit and then give in :-)
@asmallsanctuary Жыл бұрын
It’s not cheap but I think they have a sliding scale (I would contact them to ask). Where in Europe are you? (If you’re comfortable sharing of course). The product is very lightweight and is shipped in a small bubble envelop so the shipping should not be much on account of weight but might still add up on account of distance. I ‘evangelize’ for the Tzitzit Project folks all the time because I love their product! ❤️✨

Thank you sister. I have an acrylic tallit but one day want to invest in a higher quality one. I do wear tzit tzit too and wash those by hand.

I put my tallit in a pillowcase and wash it with other light colours in the machine. Comes out fine.

This may seem like an odd question, but how does one sew an atarah onto a tallit? I’ve been looking for ways and so far have not found a video on how to sew/attach, anyone know how to? Please let me know. Thank you.
@asmallsanctuary Жыл бұрын
It depends on the tallit. The atarah can be any decorative band, as simple or as elaborate as you want. If you make a tallit ‘from scratch’ from a beautiful piece of cloth or shawl, then you can stitch on the atarah like any other appliquéd fabric. If you already have a tallit and want to replace the atarah that’s already on there, you may want to remove and appliqué the atarah of your choice. Some Judaica stores sell atarot (plural) that you can stitch on or you can make your own from beautiful ribbon or trim. There are no set ‘rules’ about what an atarah should look like so you can be as creative as you wish! Hope this helps ✌️

Make sure the tread is 10p percent wool, man made or silk. Do not use cotton or a cotton blend.....

What size is that tallit?
@asmallsanctuary6 ай бұрын
It’s a size 50”. If you go to the seller’s website, they will specify the width in inches. I’m 5”5.

@@asmallsanctuary im 175cm is it good size 60/170cm i saw that size on one site on ebay?
@asmallsanctuary6 ай бұрын
@@levia971 I would say if you’re that height, get a 55” tallit. 50” will be short. Hope this helps!

How do I replace a tassel? It has become stained in an accident, I used bleach and now it’s discolored.

You can look at my tzitzit tying videos for instructions!
Yes! Many women wear a tallit in the non-Orthodox Jewish world and there is excellent precedence for doing so in our tradition. Please click on ‘playlist’ and look for the tallit/tzitzit playlist where I address this topic extensively :-) Thanks for asking.

@@asmallsanctuary thank you! Another question is there a different in sizes and colors between men and women? If women wear the Tallit to church would it be a problem?
