Strap is almost unnoticeable after a few minutes, very light. No trouble connecting to Venu 2S watch, 840 bike computer and even Concept2 RowERG. Data shared with Garmin Connect with no problem. Very happy with device.

If you just received your new Garmin HRM Dual strap and are setting it up, just return it. Sizing is such a pain in the ass and you’ll have to return here every month when re adjusting the size

How in the world do I connect the Garmin HRM-Dual to my phone or app? This doesn't do anything to instruct me to do that. It only connects to a garmin device.

tell me about it! what makes it even worse is that, even if you manage to find the right lenght, as soon as you wear the strap around your chest, the tension itself loosens the strap again... so irritating.

This is the worst strap adjustment known to man. Not much time spent on it in the video. Congrats, this got me frustrated enough to spend more to get a Polar H10

Bit of a late reply here, but thought I'd help out anyway just incase. I have a forerunner 245 which is basically entry level Garmin, and this works fine.

It's literally impossible to tighten the strap. You certainly can't 'just slide' the two clips.

connect via watch settings > sensors/accessories > add new/discover > add HRM DUAL (via ANT+) thennnnnn i noticed it works a billion times better if actually doing an activity so start a cardio test or something but yea seems no garmin connect on this "budget" one, only the HRM-Fit, pro, and pro-plus have garmin connect support, not HRM dual ):

Dose it work on tattoos? I can't use a smart watch because I have heavily tattooed wrists. I also have heavily tattooed chest..

The chest strap is different tech than wrist. The chest reads electronic pulse. The wrist uses visual. So I think the tattoos will not effect the chest strap
