Knitpicks has short double pointed needles. If you make a lot of these, if you get wooden double points, you can shorten the needles possibly with a pencil sharpener and add bee's wax to make the ends nice.

At the beginning of the 2nd round (11:04), you say to knit the first 8 stitches, but it looks like you’re knitting two together (k2tog). Am I mistaken, or are we supposed to decrease at the beginning of the 2nd round? Thank you.

Easy. Add 10 stitches to each row you want to add, and 1 stich on each part of the "arms" of the star. I'll explain better: you start with 95 stitches, and you do 9, decrease, 18 (2x9), decrease, 18, decrease, 18, decrease,18, decrease, 9. If you add 1 row, you will need 105 stitches (95 + 10), then you will start with 10, decrease, 20 (2x10), decrease, 20, decrease,20, decrease,20 decrease, 10. If you add 2 rows, 115 stitches, 11, decrease, 22 (2x11) decrease, 22, decrease, 22, decrease, 22, decrease, 11... And so on.

Messed up a bit, sorry. In the video they start with 8, decrease, 16... So if you add one row, you add 10 stitches (105) and you would start with 9, decrease, 18 (2x9)...

Depends on how fast of a knitter you are! I made one flat star, or half of the pattern, in only a couple episodes of Game of Thrones. Compared to other pieces I didn't think that was very long at all

If you want just a larger star, since this one starts with 95 total, so that makes 21, add more stitches in multiples of 5 for additional rows. I think the decrease used is sl2 k3tog p2sso, so the first row after the cast on is all k, then the second is something like r2 k8, * decrease, k16 decrease * repeat * through * to k8 r3 k7 * d k14 d * k7 r4 k6 * d k12 d * k6 r5 k5 * d k10 d *k5 r6 k4 * d k8 d * k4 r7 k3 * d k6 d * k3 r8 k2 * d k4 d * k2 r9 k1 * d k2 d * k1 r10 5 d r11 cut off enough thread to tie off - put needle on, go through 5 remaining stitches

raposa realm For a 5 corner star you add 10 stitches for each knitted row and and extra 5 stitches for the very last row. For example, for a smaller star you could cast on 45 stitches, knit all in 1st row, 2nd row k3, decrease as she shows in video, k6, decrease, and so on until you’re left with 3 stitches on this row which get knitted. Row 3: k2, decrease, k6, decrease and so on.
