Hello :) May I ask what you mean by "4mm yarn" - is this a yarn that recommends 4mm needles or a number 4 weight yarn as they're slightly different :) Thanks

I am a new knitter so hope this isn't too silly a question... I noticed that at the start of rows you move the first stitch To the right needle then knit say 3 , but the first one seems to count toward the total of 4 knit before the purls. Is this right? Why is this being done?

No worries for the questions :) I always skip the first stitch because I prefer how it looks the edge, but it is up to you !

I usually slip my first stitch because my last stitch tends to seem loose and slipping my first stitch of the next row keeps everything the right size so the edges don't seem looser than the middle.. But some times I do knit the first stitch. It depends on the pattern too.. For dog sweaters I usually knit the first stitch
