It makes it sooo much easier. Starting the braid from the bottom of my neck never works for me, short pieces are always falling out and it never stays in place. The elastics are key :)

Oh wow I LOVE this! My hair is too long for this, but I'll have to try some variations to see if I could come up with something. Great idea on using and cutting elastics! Makes it so much easier.

For longer hair you can just do two pigtail braids and then bring them up over your head like a headband. If they overlap it actually looks really cute!
