Hi Thank you for your patience, great job. Got two questions, 1. Where do I get a Floppy Drive/UBS for my KN 5000 2. Where do I get a LCD Panel replacement for the KN 5000 Thank again Regards Paul

Thank you, so you can get the emulator on eBay just search for "Floppy Drive USB Emulator For Technics SX KN-5000" You can't find a new LCD Panel for this because Technics stopped making them, however keep an eye on eBay many people sell them for parts and you should be able to find it sooner or later.

@@_PSantos No you don't need any floppy drive, but you must have the floppy drive connector cable inside your keyboard to plug it into this one. I know it's sad that Technics stopped making Music Keyboards because they had some of the best keyboards.

It has to match the exact settings of the old floppy which was removed from the keyboard. There are 3 possibilities that you can set it to, and they are Master, Slave, and Cable Select. Most likely you need it to be set at Master. The manual of the Emulator should tell you which position is Master, and it should also be printed on the PC board next to the jumper pins. Thank you

@TECHNOLOGYTIPS101 3 жыл бұрын
Hi, The old Technics SX-PR 250 had three different types of floppy drives, and each one had a different configuration. Some of these configurations were controlling the drive jumper settings through the Floppy Drive Firmware and there was no physical jumpers on the drive. So in order to know which floppy drive emulator is right for you I need to know which model floppy drive your Technics originally came with.

It will really work? Someone tested it in Technics KN5000 ??? In my opinion GRAY wire in this video is soldered not to GND but to +5V line (!!!) ...
@TECHNOLOGYTIPS101
@TECHNOLOGYTIPS101 3 жыл бұрын
From my personal research it should be connected to Ground. The reason is that I took apart the original floppy disk that came with the KN5000 and traced down the wiring and all the lever switches to see what triggers the alert about floppy disks presence. If you don't do this modification the Keyboard may not detect the presence of the disk, or in this case flash drive.
@wojteksz.8715
@wojteksz.8715 3 жыл бұрын
@@TECHNOLOGYTIPS101 But on emulator you follow by trace +5V (not GND) and did solder GRAY wire to resistor on +5V line trace ... On emulator written GND on this trace but not relate to this trace - it just relate to 4 pin power connector pinup and means second pin.
@TECHNOLOGYTIPS101
@TECHNOLOGYTIPS101 3 жыл бұрын
@@wojteksz.8715 I double checked the video and you are absolutely right, the wires is connected to 5V. For some reason it is installed in my Technics KN5000 and it works great, so I guess it will work with 5V also. I am thinking the reason why it works is that there is an electrolytic capacitor next to it which is probably grounding the signal that way. So the verdict is that either option will work.
