Great demo! JV-1080 can be such a dreamy sounding synth. The special FX expansion card is another one to look for, Frozen Lake patch is a favourite.

This may sound like such a novice question, but is there a way to force pulsating style patches to *always* be consistent in tempo and oscillation? Like make it just sound identical everytime you hit play in your DAW/export the track? I'm using both JV1080 and XV-5080 and I have to hit play like 4 times for the tempo to sync to my project's tempo and the way it shifts around is always different each time I hit play and/or export the track..

Nice video. I edit all patches from the front panel, it was my first synth while I was still a teen so it's entirely memorized - every parameter I know where to find it. Editor is too slow for me.

Does using 2/3/4 tones in a patch cost polyphony? Or does it happen only in Performance mode when you use multi-timbrality? I guess both do reduce the polyphony. I will try that patchbase (iOS) editor and librarian with my "new" XP-30! Now the hunt for two more cards for these empty slots is on. :D

Think every tone uses a poly voice- so a 4 tone patch is only 16 note poly

So when you’re editing the patch in coffeeshopped, is the sound coming from the plug-in? How do you get the patch onto the JV-2080?

sound comes from the JV, coffeeshop editor gives you ability to change all the JV parameters that are exposed via midi/sysex. same with any other synth that is supported by the editor.

@@Cybercowboy_69 via MIDI so you need a soundcard with MIDI ports or some external USB to MIDI device. I won’t bet ont those cheap MIDI to USB cable adapters.

It's on IOS. I'm waiting for some dx7 parts to come in before I can test Patch Base. It looks promising. Kind of expensive at $30 per synth layout. I hear you can make your own layouts with midi designer 2. What I also want to test is using a widi master on each synth (dx7, d50, jv-1080, xv-3080, etc) and seeing if I can program them all over bluetooth midi on the ipad with apps like AUM and fugue machine. If anyone has tested any of this let me know!
