Oh, I better add, your instructions are very good, especially how you show several times how to fold the tube inside the outer fabric.

I use this method, I wouldn't say it is seamless. As I use a lot of rayon, silky material, I use my over locker to make the scrunchies and hand stitch the elastic together, avoiding stretching of the fabric, trying to fit it under the machine needle and hand stitch the opening as the scrunchie then is nice and puffy all around.

What Thread count do you use ( tw ) 40, 50, 60 for your scrunchies please.
@christelgrimmer44782 жыл бұрын
@@bestprintableprint5248 Do you mean what thread do I use? With over locker just usual over locker thread, when using sewing machine I use mostly normal Guetermann polyester, sometimes cotton. Sorry I am in Australia, I think we use different terms.

I am not sure how this is "seamless" I see all kinds of seams on this scrunchie.

Anyone if you could answer this. What Thread count do you use? 40, 50, 60 ect. Thanks... And where do you purchase it from please all information is great information. Thanks
@Diyvancouverisland2 жыл бұрын
Hi! You can use like a 50 count just depending on the fabric you are using. It can be purchased at the fabric store or online. It is up to you if you want all cotton thread. This thread is just a general thread.

hey, wonderful little tutorial! doubted this method at first with the tube thing! was like, how in the world is this going to work out?? lo & b-hole'd, i followed thru and it looks great. clear instructions, clever method, solid video and sound quality as well. top notch scrunchieness. thank you :) i do wonder if you have any suggestions as to how to get my sewing machine to not swallow up elastic? it sucks it down under the needle and i end up with a jammy knotty mess every time, so i've just been hand sewing the elastic together.
@Diyvancouverisland3 жыл бұрын
The elastic will make your needle dull after a while so make sure that it is a new needle. You only need to go back and forth on the elastic a couple times. Too many times ill make the sewing machine eat it!
@nancy94783 жыл бұрын
Use a small piece of fabric to start sewing on and then onto the elastic, like chzin stitching fabric in quilting. Hope this helps. Or sew the elastic with a piece of scrap under it and just cut it away when done.

Could you please tell us whether you started sewing from the top or from the middle?
@Diyvancouverisland2 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what part are you referring to when sewing the scrunchie. Once you fold it then it will be sewn at the top
@gail66onutube2 жыл бұрын
Why not just mark the elastic and use it on the roll thread into scrunch, then then sew together at the Mark, then cut of the roll?
@beebeej1 Жыл бұрын
It's not seamless...you can just make a tube turn it sew it together and you can just use the opening where you sewed together to put in elastic...I've been sewing since I was 14 and I'm 63
