Tutorial: SUPER EASY Armature for Sculptures

Use this method to make pretty much any kind of 4-legged animal. Just change the length of the wire if you want longer or shorter legs/body, and you can make the head bigger or smaller. This is the same way I make humans and chibis also; except instead of the long tail I would use those wires for legs.

almost everything I make out of polymer clay has either an armature, or at least a ball of aluminum foil inside it! (saves clay)

Guys this wire is aluminum floral wire. Found at most floral shops or any large craft shop like Michaels

@tara sydow You have your comment replies turned off so I can't reply to you. You can use either type of clay, but air-dry could possibly crack, depending on how you dry it. I used polymer clay.

Is that a elec. guitar wire? Because i have a few that i didn't throw away after they broke/got rusty, i bought new ones for the guitar but the old ones are just sitting there in the drawer. Can i use them?

no, this is wire from the hardware/home improvement/automotive section of a dollar store. You could try guitar string, but I think that is too soft and won't hold its shape? It doesn't hurt to try, if it's free
