You can actually animate most properties in Blender, lol. Every property that has a dot right next to it is animatable, and you click that dot to add keyframes.

Best advice for me (assuming you're less experienced than me, probably wrong tho but i do want to say this anyways) is to say fuck commercial, fuck rules, fuck everything. Make what you make naturally, whatever you yourself enjoy producing the most. If you pursue music its not because of the money, it's because it's your passion, so make sure you enjoy every step of it ;) not that its wrong for you to focus on the commercial aspect tho, it's only advice and not meant to be orders so honestly you can do whatever you want O:)

0:30 Just a tip brother, on how to get rid of the banding. Make an adjustment layer with just 2% noise on top of the gradient(in 16bit workspace). Srsly, works like a charm (y)

I got addicted to physics simulations in 3ds max years ago, I loved mixing motion capture data with zero gravity ropes, and real flow for liquid simulations, it always felt like magic. Blender looks like it has a much better system than the old one in max, and it's great that it all seems in the program instead of having to mix various plugins. I tried a bit with particle systems with complex behaviours to make lots of fish and things like that but loved the idea of creating a whole ecosystem of animals/insects /robots/whatever and running a giant calculation to see how everything unfolds. Like the Lord of the rings software. I guess you're basically just making a computer game at that point. But the unknown outcome and some beautiful rendering could make a great vr experience for people to relax inside watching all the madness unfold around them.

I only ever played around with blender for a few weeks, self taught, a few years ago and found it frustrating to work with and sort of gave up. I had no experience with art, animation, computer design, etc, it was more just for fun, but it was anything but. I never referenced any videos or tutorials, and was sort of just playing around with settings and reading the descriptions/tooltips, but that didn't get me very far. Seeing how simple, and smooth this tutorial was really makes me wanna give it a try again.
