This was a wonderful tutorial Gayle. As I have told you before I am at an entry level for journal making. I have made my notes and a sketch for this one to keep in my plan book. Okay I know this was a "happy accident" but I think this ended up being my favorite page in this journal! Plus I absolutely LOVE the combination of laces you used on the edges and I'm not normally a lace on the edges person. The fact you used the deer paper and had a deer story was awesome too.

That journal is beautiful! I watch you all the time and your work is amazing. I just finish my first journal for my oldest daughter birthday. Sewing journal so I could use some of things of my mom's such as buttons, seam binding, etc. I used the manilla envelope for my cover. You make things look so doable, but it was not so easy for me. It took all the wind out of my sails!😂 but proud of myself for trying. Thank you for introducing me to these journals!

Apologies if someone has already made this comment. About that Martha Stewart punch where you can punch the corners of papers for a cute decorative corner. The punch does open up on both sides into a V. That way the corner of the paper fits perfectly. Then you slide both sides back into place for easy storing. (It opens on the sides like the WRMK Chompers.)

I’m sorry the pocket did not turn out for where you wanted but it works perfectly where it’s home ended up being. I love it, it turned out so cute. I love that you are not perfect. I love that you make mistakes but that you always giggle about it and move on creating a solution. All of this makes real and it causes to believe we can too. So keep on making your mistakes because they turn out perfect❤️. Now on to what can we make for the front pocket, uhmmm 🧐. Actually you made 4 pockets and all the tags and journaling card plus decorated. I think that’s a good hours work! I have a movie recommendation. Have you seen The Aeronauts? It’s on prime and based on real events. Jeff and I liked it.

I am new to journals. Do you use scrapbook paper for the pages? I bought some coffee dyed paper, but it is very thin. It wouldn't hold any embelishments.

I make lots of different types of journals, so some have scrapbook paper as pages. In general, I use copy paper, 26lb matte photo paper, coffee dyed paper (cheap copy paper) as my pages. Hope that helps! ❤️

Hi. I have a couple questions that I hope you can answer. Do you consider a Digital “Kit” to include pages and ephemera? I see listings on Etsy that say kit but when you look it’s just pages. I know that sometimes the Ephemera is an add-on but they don’t even offer that. It confuses me. I see pages that are gorgeous and would love to use but has no ephemera at all. Curious what you think. I’m not sure my answer is what everyone in the journaling community would say, but I consider a kit, digitals purchased as one unit. So a kit could be just journal pages, just ephemera or both depending on the listing. I have many Etsy digital “kits” that are journal pages only. If that’s the case, I make my own ephemera. If I have left over ephemera that goes with a kit used in a journal, I package it up and send it along with the journal to the purchaser, so they have it to play with in the journal. Hope that helps! ❤️
