Nothing wrong with your clip that helped me with this, but what were TI thinking? I mean, on my Casio I draw the graph push G-solve > X-cal and type in the wanted Y value and it search for it even if its outside of the visible graph.

I completely understand. I find if my students are smart enough to figure their way through the archaic landscape of the Ti interface they'll generally do just fine in math... and life. :)

What if the intersection is way off screen and you don't know what to set the window to? Intersect only works if the intersection is off screen. For example, I need to find the x value that gives a y value of .5 in the function y=(.99987)^x. I can zoom out for days until the intersection is on screen, but I was hoping for a simpler solution.

Hey Patrick. 1970's technology isn't amazing with simple user interface. :) Try ZOOM --> 6:Fit. The calculator will try to fit interesting points, like zeroes and intersections, into the screen. Doesn't always work, but worth a shot if you have to hunt. Good luck driving that thing.

Use the WINDOW key at the top and increase your YMAX value. You can also try ZOOM ---> ZOOMFIT. Hope that helps. -G
