Just changed mine. Wasn't too bad. Removed the grille and the bumper screws from that side only (plus one behind the grille) and gave enough flex to replace the headlight. Worst bit was removing that electrical connector

Tip... Don't buy a cheap headlight without the vw style plastic bulb holder or you will have to do this every time you replace a bulb as there is zero access space. Learned from bitter experience after a garage fitted a cheap one to my mk6 after a minor collision

@@alexandrestevenson3655 if you are removing/replacing the whole ballast, yes you do need to remove the bumper to access the bolts. that video you linked is just for the bulbs which can be done without

@@HandE2Go it is possible however. I dropped my bulb in housing area. So I had to take the housing out. Literally replace the bulb is easy however they barely give enough space to do the job right.

Damn! That front grill was a PAIN and popped out with a loud CRACK! I was sure I'd broken some plastic but nope, it's just well secured in those plastic tabs! There's lots of replays there since others are fighting it, too! I see on the video he examines his a lot since he probably had the same issue.

@@jamiemadison8082 the bumper is over the bottom seam of the headlamp and there is a bolt that is inaccessible with removing the bumper. VW could just have fitted pegs at the bottom of the light so that it can just be lifted up, but that would be too simple...

You should just say "remove front bumper" and give people a link to your bumper video. Saves having to go through all that for headlights and you get more views too.

Push connector firmly onto the headlight to take pressure of the retaining barb. Release the retaining latch and then wiggle the connector off, it's certainly a knack and the retaining latches are notoriously fragile.

don't think you need to fully remove radiator cover and bumper if you removing just one headlight. And all bulbs can be changed without removing the headlight.
